I hate to sound insensitive but how can you not be aware of stuff like this going on? IDK. It's pretty obvious sex sells. It also seems pretty obvious that just because you posed nude a bunch of times doesn't entitle you to a pro card. The one girl said she placed like 15th or something? You still need to diet and come in looking top tier.... lol

Have been a regional judge for NPC and can confirm that at national levels girls play ball with judges or get voted lower. Also, there is a clear favourite at every show usually because they are connected or suck up (or suck off) the right person. Whoever markets themselves the best is also key because all the girls at pro and national levels basically look exactly the same so if the federation can get more promotion from the right girl, they get pushed.
Know more than a few girls who have placed very high for their initial show, and then when they shoot down the wrong guy they are suddenly placing in the bottom.
