It might be a Hindu thing, my brother had some neighbors put up swastikas for Hindu celebrations.

It's also a Jain thing, even Indigenous people used it in their art before all the nazi business.

Before the nazis, it was associated with good luck and good fortune, so it was an effective symbol for them to use.

But you know living in the West I don't think your neighbors are going to consider the finer points of the history of swastikas.

They will probably just think you are a nazi if you put it up, I had to explain to my older brother that his Indian neighbors were not nazis.
