Shoutout to the guy taking up the rack for >1 hour

Doing maybe 3 sets and spending the rest of the time looking at himself in the mirror or texting. Awesome!

If you are a powerliftercel taking 10 minute rest periods between your sets and hogging a rack for 2 hours you need to do that at home, let others work in with you, workout at a specialty lifting gym, or just workout less optimally with shorter rest periods

When I was lifting in a gym and people would do this I’d ask to work in with them. Never had anyone say no, or they would just move to something else

They’re a dik for hogging equipment but you also need to speak up too
Best lifts:
Bench press: 315x5
Squat: 465x1
Strict press: 205x5
Deadlift: 405x13 (conv tap'n'go with straps)

Agreed. Ask to work in and assert dominance.

You know you were mirin. What other reason could you have for watching this go on for an hour without speaking up?

Did you ask him for the machine? I sometimes sit at a machine for an hour when I don't feel so good or whatever, but if you ask me I'll do one more set (or just hop off), finish up, and let you use it.

If you asked him and he continued to use it and didn't want to cooperate, then you can complain to the gym staff and they'll work with him/her - otherwise, you can't just be intimidated by people's size or appearance and ASSUME what he's gonna do based off of that.

Most people will get off of a machine, do one more set, or if they just 'hopped on' they'll say so.
