all i'm hearing on the news is the education support workers going on strike, crying about how this is a violation of the charter of rights by the provincial conservative govt for making the strike illegal

ironic considering these same people never cared about the charter of rights being violated when the federal govt froze people's bank accounts. and these same people likely encouraged it. The very same union that represents them (CUPE) that fired people and required vax mandates. so lol. fuk em, they get what they deserve. "livable wages" and families to feed apparently didn't matter then.

not that i necessarily like or agree with our govt. but lol. these people get paid 39K on average for a job that doesn't require much qualification, excellent benefits, pension plan, 6 hours a day, all the standard school and summer holidays, etc. if they don't like it get another job and stop messing with kids. plenty people out here that are struggling much worse than that and they don't have the backing of a union.

All janitors and secretaries and chit are going on strike so now schools are closed and the teachers are gonna go back to online classes again. Such a chit show.

if the conditions suck, that's one thing. but these jobs don't require much schooling above a high school diploma and is just glorified babysitting. granted yeah, I can see how it sucks, but they are also welcome to look for something else. they also include custodians and secretaries.
