Tradie wagecell needs some good boots for walking around all day and doing tradie things

Preferably not heavy ass steel toes, but something in that realm I guess. Thanks

Entered thread to recommend some redwing heritage boots but they aren’t really for tradie activities.

If you don’t need steak toe then I’d still recommend the moc toes though. They are super comfy. And you’d be the most stylish tradie on the job.

I heard great things, but absolutely hated my red wings. They were by far the most uncomfortable boots I’ve ever had. I gave them to my dad in hopes he would have better luck. He said the same thing and donated them to goodwill.

Depends on trade but i have had good luck with Golden Retriever boots with the Vibram soles

i had thorogood boots for a long time. like 5 or 6 years

i prob could have gotten them re-soled, but didn't.

i then did a lot of research cause i have a lot of non-work boots and was just trying to find the most info

then i didn't want looks. just pure comfort

went with orthofeet. and they're actually cheaper than a lot of boots. they're comfortable as fuk. prob even moreso than my asic tennis shoes which are comfortable as hell

the only thing is i've only had them for like 5 months, so idk about durability. but they've held up thus far. through some pretty rough chit. albeit not always concrete

If you can get your foot measured for the perfect fit, Redwings are hard to beat, especially if you have extra wide feet -- they are one of only a few brands I'm aware of that are easy to get a true 4E width.

Get slip ons if they feel good without your foot moving around a bunch.

If you get lace ups, sometimes the redwing tongue fits weird which can cause discomfort --I will kinda fold it vertically a bit to get it to set better on my ankle.

Another great boot I've owned were Justin slip ons. I might have like this more than the Red wings to be honest, but it was hard to find my size on Amazon and I hate to go to stores.

I don't like wedge soles -- prefer traditional with the heel.

Some boots that advertise for comfort have a special insole but I hardly pay attention to that because I usually end up buying something better for my flat feet to put in them.

Depends on what you do I guess, I work in a greasy enviroment so I didn't want a boot with laces because they would be ruined all the time. The first boots I bought were 225$ Redbacks and they were pretty great, lasted 6 years before the oil finally got into the boot enough to cause the sole to seperate from the rest of the boot. Im on a set of 100$ Georgia Boot slip ons, probably 3 years old and they seem to be wearing about the same as the redbacks but they are not nearly as comfortable, good boot for the price.

Walking around all day? Thorogood wedge sole. Depends on what else you do tho.

Honesty I find timberlands to be very comfortable even though they’re considered a mid-tier boot. Redwings always seem to get good reviews.

I’ve also heard good things about thorogood boots. I was looking at these since they’re on close out. If you want a safety toe that is lighter than steel, these are composite.

get thorogoods if you want moc-toe or redback if you want pull-on boots

Find a boot that is the right length that you like the look of, make sure the width works for you, and put some superfeet green insoles in there.
