Driving trucks as a career choice ???

I recently got ny CDL, but haven't looked for a job yet

I feel that it's a chance to be out in the road alone in your truck hauling whatever,

Beats seeing the same dead eye liberals at the office listening to mfs **** day in and day out

I dumped the officecel corporate bs three years ago and it was one of the best dam decisions of my life. No emails, no mind melting boring ass meetings, no flights to rooms full of idiots with idiotic ideas, no chitty co workers. I could go on forever.

It's paying really well right now. The good days are probably numbered due to AI, but for the next 10 years or so, would be a solid choice.

I used to be a security guard for shpping areas in the Seattle area.

It's Russian/Ukrainian companies that bring containers from China. The companies had products for Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, TJ Maxx among others.

The companies have workers from Russia, Ukraine, Pakistan, India. They get into arguments all the time.

I've seen Chinese families hidden in the shipping containers.

I work in logistics as a broker/dispatcher

You can make around 10-20,000 a month and then take off whenever if you have your own truck or up to 2,000-4,000 a week.

I've seen some make more than that also.

The transistor is tapped out, silicon is maxed, we are not going to see the same advancements in tech we saw over the last 20 years for a very long time

We're probably 150-200 years away from these electric pipe-dreams, the good news is we have enough oil to last at least another 300 years until it's actually time to convert

Dispatcher here as well, those figures are high, I would say $1500-$2000 right now. A year ago when the market was inflated, $2-$4k was normal..

Automation is coming, but it pays well right now. I'm a line haul driver for an LTL company and really like my job.

U talking gross pay though... take away diesel insurance breakdown and misc and you probably take hone a quarter of that no ?
Also depends on the truck you driving either dry van reefer flatbed

I'm talking owner operator specialized trucks not just Dry Vans. Open Deck makes a lot and if you can make it into cali I've actually brokered some upwards of $6-8,000
