Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo defended himself from being linked to the 1985 murder of Drug Enforcement Administration agent Enrique 'Kiki' Camarena

Agent Camarena helped bust a marijuana plantation in 1982 and it was destroyed in 1984, sparking a chain of events that led to his murder in 1985

Félix Gallardo was arrested in 1989. In 2017, a Mexican court sentenced him to 37 years in prison for Camarena's death.
He was also found guilty of killing Alfredo Zavala Avelar, a Mexican pilot who was employed by the DEA

This guy was a genius. Could have been CEO of some Fortune 500 company. Started the Guadalajara cartel and completely revolutionised the pepsi business. They call him the 'Jefe de Jefes'. Chapo, Quintero, etc were essentially psychopathic and illiterate peasants but Miguel Angel was a different beast entirely.

Camarena may have been killed because he was getting close to uncovering the relationship between the CIA and the narcos. It has been asserted that a CIA operative was present during Camarena's torture and murder.
