Messi is probably the most over-rated player ever.

Once again he's getting exposed with a top national Argentina team.

How the fuk do you lose 2-1 vs Saudi fukinglol Arabia with that Argentina team?

The guy can't lead any team he's ever played, exposed in Barcelona once the engine of the team left in Xavi and Iniesta, exposed multiple times by Chile in Copa America.

Finally leaves Barcelona (on a fuking FREE LMAO) after bleeding them dry demanding increased wages every 2 years and where does he go? EPL? SERIE A?

LMAO nope straight to one horse farmers league Ligue 1 PSG.

Dude's a charlatan and a pecho frio.

Ronaldo >>>>>>>>>>> Messi.

Maradona >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>> Messi.

His amazing when his surrounded by Xavi/Messi/Busquets, probably the greatest midfield trio of all time.

But he can't lead a team and isn't clutch. CR7 is there when it counts.

I disagree.

Guy was literally unstoppable in his prime. I am a Real fan so i know. Mourinho played 3 defensive midfielders just to stop him with centreback Pepe as the deepest midfielder. Ofcourse Iniesta & Xavi were great players but its not like Ronaldo didnt have a great midfield with prime Kroos, Modric, Casemiro.

His stats really do speak for themselves. Guy scored 50 League goals in 2012. An insane statistic.

You could argue between him & Ronaldo but no other player is close to those two in terms of goals, resume & longevity.

messi is the best player ever, and I mean ever. I absolutely love ronaldo, but no real football fan would ever say ronaldo is better than messi. That’s not taking anything away from cr7, Ronaldo is once in a century type of player.

Messi does things with the ball you’ve never seen, he makes top tier players look stupid, like not even average, he makes them look like amateurs

OP is probably judging messi’s entire career and ability from this one game or few lol

This is the part where you tell us how many goals Messi scored in the knockout stages.

Meanwhile Ronaldo has proven himself in 3 leagues. Won the Euros (yeah he was injured in the finals).

Remember 2018 WC? Hat-trick vs Spain? Even Messi fans know he could have never done that. Against a rival country, back against the wall, with a horrible team.

You are talking as If the club wasnt in total colapse during his last few years There. He did good individually regardless.
Its not like Messi by himself Can stop his team from letting in 5 goals in UCL play off matches etc.

Same can be said for Juve. The team was a Shadow of its former self in Ronaldo’s last 2 seasons there. Can you fault him for that when he was still playing well?

Im not even saying Messi is better than Ronaldo, just that they are One the same level above everyone Else including Zidane, Maradona, Pele, R9 ronaldo etc

Bro Messi won Copa America aswell.

You think scoring a hattrick in a 3-3 game against Spain beats taking a team to a final whilst being the best player of the tournament?

I do believe Ronaldo is the better player tho. That hattrick against Spain, hattrick vs Atletico for Juve, hattrick vs Sweden to quality for world cup. Game winning goals in so many CL knockout games. Even when Messi scored more goals, Ronaldo scored the more decisive ones. 3 UCL in a row is sick when before that no team had ever won it twice in a row. & that was mostly because of Ronaldo’s clutch play in the knockout stages.
If Guardiola’s Barca team had done that feat it would have been regarded as the best feat of all time. But because media & «experts» are biased against Real it isnt regarded as a great of an achievement as it should be.

Ronaldo was excellent in the Euros too. That wales game

And don't act like that Spain game didn't gave you goosebumps.

The media hate Ronaldo. Other players hate Ronaldo. I mean his handsome, tall, rich, dated supermodels.

That's the point there. Ronaldo does it when it matters the most. Decisive. Not to take away from Messi. He'd still be in my starting 11. But if I had 1 game for all the marbles. Like a UCL final or WC final. I'd have Ronaldo over Messi.

Messi is the debatably the most technical player ever, there's always Ronaldinho, Zizou, Ronaldo.

Ronaldo's resume is arguably better than Messi's simply because Messi hasn't won anything of note outside of Barcelona's golden age, he has his 7 Ballon Do'rs, but one of them was not deserved, in 2010 Sneijder should've won it by winning the treble with Inter, taking the Netherlands to the final while scoring 5 goals in the WC. And Ronaldo should've really won in 2018 having scored 15 goals, 3 assists in the CL, 26 goals, 5 assists in la liga and 4 goals including a hat trick vs Spain at the WC. Luka scored one goal and one assists in the CL, had one goal and six assists in la liga and scored 2 goals one assist at the WC, not even close IMO.

Messi has been so far below his top level for a good 5-6 years. In that time he literally has disappeared in 90% of any big game he's played in but the media narrative is so strong that its literally brainwashed people into believing he's still at some GOAT conversation level. Even better its whenever his team flops "aw the team sucks, Messi can't carry them every game" and if they win "Messi GOAT omg!!".

This is summed up by him moving to some weak league into a stacked team and with those conditions having a pathetic season, arguably one of the biggest flops in football history but ofc the media will never tell you that.

Bro look at Portugals run in Euro 2016 and tell me those teams were better than the opposition at Copa America. Portugal drew every game in a group with Austra, Hungary & Iceland. They also needed penalties to beat Poland. «That Wales game» bro Wales is a tiny footballing nation. France were heavy favorites for a reason.

Messi has toyed with teams in knockout stages & finals. I agree Ronaldo is the best clutch player for the big occasion tho. Messi did score more League goals & won more League titles tho which i dont see you take into consideration.

If Ronaldo is the GOAT & only has slightly better stats than Messi then Messi sure must be #2 right?

Its crazy how they just give him a balon dor If no One Else really stands out. 2021 is a great example of that. Same with 2010. Its like he is the default winner because he is regarded as «best in the world» & another player would need a truly remarkable season in order to win it. Ronaldo deserved every single balon dor he got 100%. He even got robbed in 2018 when Modric for some reason won it. Yeah he went to the final with Croatia but had an easy run, got crushed in the final & wasnt really the stand out player as the whole team was good collectively. Meanwhile Ronaldo bagged a CL for Real being clutch in every knockout game.
