Reason why Drake music is so popular

From the perspective of a non-musical person.

Not sure if he is responsible for it or whoever produces his music, but if you listen to him, he sings/raps perfectly in line with the beat. It’s almost like his voice is going at the exact same up and down and speed as the beat.

Any music pros know if this is a certain technique and why no one else does it so perfectly?

it’s really interesting from a psychological perspective and i think he is using some science and that’s why he’s number one and no one is even close.

Hows about this:

-doesn't use auto tune or melodyne to correct a god awful voice that has no business rapping
-stays in key and on beat (doesn't just talk out of beat like the new school garbage ass rappers)
-40 gives him sick beats (and can no doubt shop for any beat he wants)
-decent writer and word play (no doubt has many songs ghost written for him that he can shop for)

In a world of trash, the mediocre succeeds.

Drake is great at hum/singy hooks. Aside from that his greatest talent is stealing the latest trends and styles from less popular artists.

I can't stand his chit, hes a huge ****git and so are his fans. Typical fukboi man-child who can't grow up and stop being a degenerate waste.

Honestly think he, and anyone else, is just popular because that is what the industry chooses to push. If the industry propped up and pushed someone like Trey Songz as hard as they do drake, or they did Usher it would be the same result

he appeals to low IQ people especially women and is rapper lite, drug lite, gangster lite, so they feel like they are "hard" listening to rich black guy from canada act like a thug.

his voice is whiny and annoying
he is a beta male to the max
he has 0 gangster history
his lyrics are low IQ basic AF with no deeper meaning

What song or two best typifies this style of his? Want to be able to compare notes.

As soon as I read the OP, the first song that sprang to mind was Eric B. & Rakim's "Don't Sweat the Technique". Not the most ambitious delivery done to date, but in terms of textbook perfection - absolutely bang-on. Listen and you will understand.
