feels like i got scammed at my new job (rant)

a few months ago i finally found my first junior position (SWE).
its for a company with projects in alot of areas, and i've been told first all new hires go through a 20 days course in the company and then those that pass the course get told their position and in which project and location they will be in. we got paid those 20 days but only minimum wage (after that the money is good.) anyway in the intreview i told them where i live and in which area im looking to work at and they told me no problem we have alot of projects there..

so i passed the course and the fckers told me the location they put me is 2:20-2:40 commute EACH DIRECTION from where i live. i spoke to them about it and they said they no longer have positions where i live because they gave it to other hires. im 100% positive they lied in the intreview when they said they got alot of projects in this area.
getting a junior position was difficult af so i thought about taking it but in the end said fck it... i wont humilate myself with 5 hours commute every day (9:30 hours in the job..) those 20 days doing the wagie route were brutal enough for me and that was with a 20 minutes commute.
anyway now suddenly im unemployed again. feels like it was a mistake telling everyone when i got this job. my mom still happy af, i might not tell her what happened to not bum her out..

fck this gay earth. feels like i've wasted a month now and in this month i finally got alot of phone calls about open positions and i declined everything so i could focus in the course.

You got the position and hopefully learned some things with their training, and now with the experience. I'm sure you were paid during that time. This happens, just learn from it and let it build you.

I moved 800 miles away one time for a job that was supposed to be so great and wasn't even there two weeks and started figuring out that it wasn't a good move.

The important thing is that you tried. In the bigger picture the fact you'll try will go a lot further.

its a software enginner position. they develop some products and services for companies, so most of the work is at those companies location.

Sounds like they did when he was in the interview but while training they filled those positions. Dick move but it happens in business. A lot of companies have hiring managers who are actually more or less recruiters. They will bait that hook and put a golden carrot on the stick to get you to come work there. Once you do, they have a long onboarding process, or a training period in which they can write off as an expense and there are government programs that pay companies to train people. So it ends up costing little to nothing to the company. Plus putting someone through all of that obligates someone or makes them believe it has to get better or they wouldn't put so much into them. From there, they would have most likely worked OP to death until he was totally burnt out and then just rinse and repeat. Much has changed since the days where you walked in and shook the actual boss's hand and sat down and interviewed with the intent of building a career. Nope, now it's just different mazes within the cage where the rat race is held.

Yeah most people interviewing (at least that I have seen as a SWE) understand some jobs just flat out lie about their positions. Just call the other places back and be like the position presented was not the position actually given.

I have seriously been considering getting hired at jobs like that just to do the 1 month training and then quit.

Do a few of those a year for some pocket money. That or market myself to companies to attend other companies training so i can give company A all the training materials for some spy type thing.
