My air fryer (Ninja Foodie) has grates that will sear meats better than a convection oven. Also it goes up to 500f. I have a convection oven as well because I only use the Ninja Foodie outside because it will smoke, the oven only goes up to 400f. No idea if there are convection ovens that do 500f.

The Breville Smart Oven Air FRYYYer Pro
That’s what I’m going to pull the trigger on I think. Normally $500 but now $320.

I have a slightly different model from this one. And yes, an air fryer toaster oven is basically a convection oven that comes with an air fryer basket and function. This one (and mine) though, also has the slow cook and dehydrate functions that I use quite frequently.

An air fryer blows the air around whats inside. So it gets hot air on all sides. Its basically a convection oven. Faster than a regular oven and sits on your counter top.
A toaster oven is a big thing that sits on your counter top and doesnt really toast or cook stuff well. its what every woman has because they think its somehow easier than an actual oven but in reality its just a very slow expensive toaster that barely works unless you spend a lot on it.

I have a convection oven and it's absolutely 10/10, but getting an air fryer as well. Probably better for potatoes / fries, sides, etc. Crispiness and even cooking. I've seen enough of DeadlyStriker's dinner threads and now I'm going to see what I can do.
Also the air fryer I got has a dehydrate feature...so, I can make apple chips.
