Kind of like Tesla where all the cars have the 90kwh battery but the models with the 60kwh battery it's just a program to limit the amount it charges to.

I will say though, that both of these are justified somewhat due to warranty purposes. Charging the battery higher will make it wear out faster and more chances of issues, just as significantly adding torque/power to a drivetrain will also risk breaking things.

Once the vehicle is out of warranty, I'm sure someone will hack/program it to do what you want.

I don’t know where they get them but they can shut them off or lower the speed or whatever they want if they miss a payment or give them some. Always wondered if that was the future. Crime is so bad here that k would not doubt ic they create an app like we have at work. They better not think of putting throttlers on gas cars for not paying subs, people would riot. I hardly see cars using any of the EV charge stations around town. Gas is still alive and well. LOL at those switching to EV to "save da planet", better solution is to switch to a hybrid. Use EV in cities to "do your part" but if they want to limit it then switch to gas. They'll find a way to limit that too.

I have had several occasions where flooring my car has saved me from a tight spot. If I wasn't able to do that I'd be out of a car, seriously hurt, or dead. Did no one use this example in the pitching meeting?

If it is to pay for road maintenance then I can see it.

But the government needs to just pick one already. Not have a tax on gas + tax on distance traveled + tolls to use roads.

If you drive a hybrid do you have to pay both? Gas tax and usage/distance tax?

I really despise the toll roads we have in TX now. I understand when there is an area that could be served by a road and a private company decides to purchase property and put a road in. I think it is BS for the state highway department to "partner" with a toll collecting company instead of just building the roads that we need and funding it via the normal government bond system.

if they're controlling speed with the other cars.. like compare the electric cars with other electric cars. then i bet less speed = less accidents

i know insurance is all about risk and if you install those devices and hit your brakes x amount of times, you get a reduction. so, my guess is if that's the case the premise = more speed = more having to hit your brakes = higher risk

BUT if its electric cars going slow amidst fast moving gas cars, idk.. probably dangerous (dunno if more or less)
