Possible Bicep tendonitis.... cissus/supplements?

Hello misc

Been lifting the past couple of months with (evidently) not enough rest days in between. Recently started feeling pain near my right armpit, which I thought it was a lat injury/aggrevation at first. Decided to skip back day for 2+ weeks and continued everything else as usual.

Turns out the condition didn't get better and actually got worse. Now feeling pain and discomfort in between my front R deltoid and my bicep, leading me to think it's bicep tendinitis (sp?).

Decided to shutdown upper body workouts entirely for the rest of the year unfortunately. Only going to do leg day and dedicated core day until things got better. Started taking Turmeric the past few days as well.

I was wondering if any fellow miscers have used any Cissus supplements before, with any results? I'm willing to try anything at this point, hoping I can get back to normal lifting within the next 3+ months. I've read cissus is mainly used for joints and cartilage, but unsure if it can help with bicep tendons?

ANY input is GREATLY appreciated. Happy holidays, friends

Bump. No cissus experiences?

Pain has decreases with time, although Extremely slowly. Nowhere close to resuming upperbody lifts currently. Might need to lay off until Feb/March.

Cissus takes about a month to kick in but once it does, it is one of the best supplements for what you’re experiencing.

The best thing is to slow down, allow time for recovery. I’ve had it a few times and it sucks.

the answer you dont want to hear but is the truth:

A supplement is not going to make up for this injury. If what you say is true, and it is tendonitis, then you are lifting incorrectly and somehow overstressing a joint by not having proper setup/technique when doing pulling movements.

Therefore, if you want to fix the problem you need to figure that out. There is NO supplement that is powerful enough to work against improper lifting causing tendonitis. Tendonitis is EXTREMELY common in lifting because most people lift incorrectly, and the ones who push themselves the hardest are the ones who aggravate tendons the most. But even taking deca, GH, bpc 157 and tb 500 and whatever otc supplement you want to take, that will not counteract doing the same thing that caused the injury in the first place, and it was NOT just you lifting too frequently or too hard, and you just need to take a supplement to help you tendons keep up, that is broscience not how the body works.

so your options are wheel spin with different supplements until you realize you have to change lifts/how you lift

or do that now and not waste the time, but I would advise fixing how you lift not just ditching the lift because usually poor movement patterns follow from lift to lift.

OP, how old are you, and what do you do for work? Was there a specific point (specific exercise, taking a break and coming back, movement you would do for work) you remember this starting to occur?
