I know that's a pretty vague thread title. Nevertheless, it's about the best I can do. Any Miscers have any ideas?

It had a man, dark hair combed back, probably blue/green/hazel eyes, although not sure I remember the eye color, IIRC in formal attire, maybe white shirt black tie, probably a dress jacket (might have been a whole suit), very classically handsome (probably had some Italian in him, although you never know), fairly sharp nose, IIRC a black and white ad, I think he was sitting down, and looking directly into the camera. It was a very classic-looking ad.

It was probably a high-end clothing ad, but it could have also been cologne.

Good chance it was a Vanity Fair ad that ran between 2004-2011, although I dunno.

I've tried Google Image searches for Armani, Versace, Polo, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Drakkar Noir, "gentleman", "cologne", and combined the term "vintage" with some/all of those.

Would anybody mind brainstorming to come up with search terms that might help me find what I'm looking for?

The guy from the ad (it was a print ad, not a commercial) looked generally in that mold, though with lighter eyes and, IIRC, an even sharper nose, and hair more shiny or wet and combed back.

Is a guy like this obsolete? I mean, there's being classically good-looking. But looking at IG models and knowing all of the different supplement stack items that they have to choose from these days, if they can afford it, they would be stronger and perhaps more energetic, intense, hungy, aggressive, competitive, and living in a new IT world, and (stating the following term neutrally, without preference or prejudice) with Woke Culture being what it is becoming these days...is a guy like that obsolete?

Pretty sure I know the ad you’re talking about. The guy was sitting on a chair with wide legs leaning forward and looking into the camera(iirc). I thought it was a Calvin Klein ad but I may be wrong.

I didn't think it was CK, though I did just take a look now and nothing came up.

I am pretty sure that it was higher-fashion (quite possibly an Italian house), or maybe a cologne ad. I'm trying to think of other brand names it could be so I could do searches, but feel currently braindead.

Getting closer, but definitely not the guy. Not as good-looking. And IIRC the lighting was dark.
