Will Bank tellers treat you different based on your balance?

Like if you've got nothing vs 5 figures, 6 figures, etc?

yes they called the cops when i dropped off a 5 figure check because i told them not to call the issuer and instead let it clear normally (they said it would take a few days if they didn't)

there was a cop outside waiting in his car. they assumed i forged the check

I doubt they really care. It's their job. They see it every day.

They would be writing me a check if they did that. SRS. Unless they have real proof of you doing something illegal that's grounds for a lawsuit. If they have suspicion of you doing something illegal they can do their own investigations but once they get the cops involved on you it's a different story.

the cop never approached me. I assume they just had him on the ready and immediately called to verify the check

They see big balances all the time. I bet they are surprised sometimes when a bum looking guy has a lot of money though.

“Um…sir, just to let you know you have a negative balance right now, if you can get it to positive by 5pm, we can wave the $36 overdraft”. At least i hear that what they say
