Looks like my healthy streak is finally over - seems I caught the flu (feelsbatman)
Is it just me or is this schit spreading around so much this year? I have a few friends who've reported being sicker than they've ever been lately. I've been to so many places lately like xmas markets and malls and stuff like that that I'm honestly not surprised. I try not to catch stuff cuz I really don't want to take time away from lifting but it's finally happened. It's been a few years since I've been sick and I forgot how irritating it can be. However, it's been literally 20 years since I've gotten the flu (srs). Absolute horse-cawkery. Even I'll admit it hit me pretty hard with the intense headache, fever, and chills.
Tips for recovery? Couldn't sleep at all last night. Had this crazy fever that caused me to overheat with the lightest blanket so I'd take it off and feel cooler but then I'd get insane chills. Tossed, turned, and pissed from 1am-5am and gave up a half hour ago.
Will not take my good health for granted any more. Fuking a way she goes.
For your time.....

I haven't/hadn't been sick since a mild cold around 6 years ago. Unvaxxed. never had covid before. Tested yday, tested negative (the tests are BS but I was curious=
Precisely one week ago, start feeling scratchy throat
Wednesday last week, even more (had an event where i was outside, in rain, cold weather for 2 hours in the evening)
Thursday, coughing
Friday, burning inner nose, sneezing, headache
Saturday, Sunday, Monday, all days have been different, all of them sucked
Today throat is burning, headache is pretty bad, whenever cough comes around it SUCKS. 1g panadol every 3-4 hours has made a difference. If it gets worse Ill get some codeine from my dad. As much as I like drugs, I prefer to stay away from anything that 'changes' the course of the sickness. Hard to evaluate your cough/pain/progress if you're off your face on codeine
I was drinking heavily through the weekend though so seems like that fked my recovery hard. I really thought it would come and go last week Tuesday with the sore throat, as it usually does if you go nuts on zinc, Vit C and rest

Yeah everyone seems to be getting flu or RSV now. I don't know the last time I did, maybe once in the last decade, so I'm sure I'll catch flu in about another month.
I also shake off colds in a day or two, so I'm not looking forward to something that actually sticks around and causes all the annoying symptoms. I'll take stuff to make me sleep alot so it seems to go by quicker.
Anyway good luck boyos with flu/RSV. We're all gonna make it.

Things are better than yesterday, but the cough is still NASTY. I can't bend over forwards or it starts blocking and I have a coughing fit which hurts like a bish. But it's weird, because I don't even feel super congested tbh. I missed a lifting date Thursday last week with a sloot with a great ass, that was pretty annoying

To improve my immune system so once I do catch something it is not harsh I'm taking cistanche tubulosa powder, NAC and Vit D everyday.
Also I recently cut back on booze by like 80%, may cut 100% through the next couple of months (Christmas Eve and day exceptions to get yucky). If I feel something coming on I'm adding Quercetin and zinc twice a day.

^^ thanks for the input boyos.
I should probably up my supplement game. I've been pursuing 100% natural whole foods and it's generally been completely fine but maybe supplementing as I age would be a good idea. I've never actually gotten a flu shot either so I'm wondering how effective that even is. I hate needles and have avoided them for literally decades, especially blood tests.

Chit is spreading like wildfire. I've been lucky and managed to dodge it so far. I always take extra steps to be sure that my immune system is supported as best as possible.

Since the jab, there's been heartache and pain
I don't know if I'll get boosted again
Can't stop now, It's too late for me
To change this jabbie life

Just got over the flu last week (and can't remember the last time I caught the flu). Was very rough for 4-5 days with fever/chills and still have a nagging cough. If you're getting joint aches and headaches like I did, then extra strength Advil can help a lot.Otherwise, I drank lots of tea and ate Lipton chicken soup. Good luck on the recovery bruv.
