The obvious answer appears to be gun, but it probably depends on who strikes first, if the gun-holder knows to back up, and how good they are in terms of draw. Video shows a number of scenarios.

I think the major factor is closing distance. If you get close enough quickly, it makes your average gun user unable to do anything. I figure that’s why, if you are carrying, maintaining distance is key. Other way around if you aren’t.

Assuming you can’t do any Doc Holiday, shoot from the holster chit.
