Worse Game you've played this Gen/past 2 years?

Gotta be Mortal Shell, had some high hopes thinking it was gonna stroke my dark souls boner but nope... had some cool mechanics and art style but combat, level design, animations etc were awful, first game in a long time I knew didnt wanna touch again, even for Indy standards I was disappointed.

Godfall would be my choice. This gen's Knack is the best way to describe it. Just a bad game that's rushed out to meet the system launch so there's more games to play.

Cyberpunk2077 at launch, followed by Lego Star Wars skywalker saga

Cyberpunk because it was a broken mess of a game that delivers 1/10th that was promised (note the past and present tense)

Lego Star Wars because it was a well made game but boring as sht

For me, it'd be the new Hitman. I loved the old games, but this one felt so much less immersive, & it honestly required too much thinking for me.

I didn't think Elden Ring lived up to the hype. Considering the massive amount of hype, it was quite disappointing.

Gran Turismo 7 definitely takes the cake for biggest disappointment for me though, considering how it took them about a decade to release it, and my expectations were just massive for it. Getting a "live services" game was a sharp left turn that ruined the experience for me. They literally took one of my all time favorite franchises and ruined it. It's hard for disappointment to get more disappointing than that.

Disagree on ER but yea GT7 was a huge letdown for me. Always loved GT and this one wasn’t it. It’s one of the main reasons I even got the PS5.

I am always going to be grateful that Sony decided to release it on the PS4, because it's the #1 reason why I lost all interest in purchasing a PS5.

Heck I don't even want to play the game anymore. Every time I put a lot of time into getting cars well adjusted for different racing classes, they change the way the class ratings are calculated ruining all my work. I'm just done with it, screw this live service bullchit.

After GT7 it's all over for Gran Turismo, the upcoming Forza would have to be an absolute dumpster fire in order to lose to it by this point.

Honestly, it really lost it's relevance and top status last gen anyways, when Sony literally went an entire console generation essentially without a real GT game. GT Sport barely counts as it was always more of an alternative GT game that lacked the upgrading that was always a big part of the series. Ironically I actually liked that better than GT7, but throughout the entire PS4 gen Forza games were mogging hard. The Xbox One had Forza 5, 6, and 7, all of which were better games than GT Sport, not to count Forza Horizons 2, 3, 4, and 5.

Playstation is just not a place for racing fans these days, you gotta be on Xbox or PC.

It seems like I hardly buy any new console games anymore, it's mostly older games I've been buying, with the occasional Nintendo exclusives or some indies I played on Gamepass that I really liked that I will occasionally buy on Switch. PC is where I've been finding the most interesting new games, but they are usually indies or "AA" games, I hardly ever buy anything "AAA" anymore.

I played AI: Somnium Files because it was leaving gamepass the following week. Hated every minute of it, but my mild autism wouldn't let me stop once I started.

Does Breath of the Wild count? The hype to boredom ratio was high on that one.
