US states raising minimum wage, with four above $15

Multiple states are raising their minimum hourly wages next month, with four boosting the minimum hourly rate to $15 or above at the start of the year: California, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Washington, according to FOX TV Digital.

Inflation will boost the Golden State's hourly minimum wage to $15.50 and Washington state's minimum wage will increase to $15.74.

Connecticut and Massachusetts will both raise wages to $15 an hour.

Monthly take home would be roughly $2k/month in most states. Here's your budget. Hope you have a warm parka to sleep in and good luck with your $20 healthcare budget.

What’s this fellow’s grocery budget? Grass? I guess they’ll save on cutting the lawn.

Then once they’ve saved 1200 in a year they will catch the 7-8% inflation stealth tax.

Reminder that1/3 of workers currently earn LESS than $15/hr.

Gen Z'ers are either going to burn it all down or be forcibly relocated to amazon warehouses, where they will slave for their daily bowl of Amazon Basics Prime! gruel.

minimum wage jobs are not intended for middle aged people with kids.

people are so fuking lazy they dont want to learn any skills, how can you be 40 and be so god damn useless you never learned anything in life and can only do minimum wage service jobs they can train you for in a week.

[img]https://i.imgur.com/mV9iqdV.png[/img
You're WAY WAY off. A minimum wage worker would be making $2687 net in California for example if they didn't work any overtime and only had 1 job.ALSO, LMFAO at $43 of monthly state income tax in this example and minimum wage workers in Red States saying California has SKY HIGH State Income Taxes.
Also, LMFAO at$800 Monthly Spending Money in your example. $200 for groceries and $600 could easily be used for rent and savings instead. There would also be likeTens of Thousands of Dollars per year of FREE STUFF available to such a worker from the State
It's pretty easy to make it and save money every month as long as you're not a drug addict or mentally ill in California making minimum wage as a single person.

Half of that $800 "spending money" is gonna have to go to groceries. The other half to make up for the retarded assumptions this "budget" made (lol @$600 rent, no gasoline, no car insurance).

Yes, but you're forgetting that these are 16-18 year old kids in California that live with their parents that make $2,687 per month not 50 year olds with a long career. The Median Household income in Los Angeles is $91,100 for example. If you take out all the single mother households, it would be like $250,000 on average.
http://www.laalmanac.com/social/so24.php

Red States have EXTREME POVERTY, NOT California, New York, etc
Miami and other Florida cities have WAY WAY WAY higher rent than Los Angeles despite the median income literally being HALF OF L.A.'s, ROTFLMFAO.

Miami Median income=$47,860, Median Rent for 1 bedroom apartment=$2,660

Los Angeles Median Income=$91,100, Median Rent for 1 bedroom apartment=$2,430

For non-peasants, yes California has stupid high state income tax. It's 9.3% for most people.

I guess if you compare it to another chithole liberal state like New Jersey it isn't too bad.

Compare it to red states and it's just fooking LOL@any ****get that lives there and makes a normal salary.

Source: I lived in California making $130k/year and it was poverty living. Taxes and insurance took well over half that money. Rent took about 50% of what was left. srs.

A pretty basic economic health indicator is % of the work force requires direct government assistance to survive. The goal of every country is always 0 - anyone who puts in a hard day's work at Mcdonald's getting burned by hot oil and lectured by single moms in pajama pants, so CEO $10k/day Ronald Mcdonald can do blow off hookers' asses on the French Riviera or whatever, should at least be able to eat and sleep indoors.

Unless you're a billionare, heaping abject poverty on them as punishment until they LDAR is the opposite of what you want - we need tens of millions of retail, sanitation, farm workers, healthcare, childcare, manufacturing, and service industry employees. Paying them below living wages and making tax payers pay the rest (medicaid, food stamps, section 8, obama phones, etc.) is a transfer of wealth directly from the lower and middle classes up to mega corps and billionaires.

LMFAO, FinancialChads are smart enough to game the system in California and use California's WORLD BEATING low property taxes to their advantage. This is why over 25% of all Billionaires live in California despite it only having 11.68% of the US Population.
