Spin off the: Best movie theater experience you've had?

For me... Hands down "Interstellar"

Always loved Nolan movies but honestly this one was fully engrossing and had me hooked in every aspect. I can only remember one part where I was kinda bored or wanting to get it going again and that was when Matt Damon got introduced, but then it finished extremely strong

I feel bad for people who never saw it in theaters

years and years ago you could take beer to the midnight movies to see rocky horror. That was always fun. Probably more because of the beer. This was before everyone ruined it and made it popular.

i went to see something in 1997. i think it was men in black.

then i snuck in to see 'out to sea' with jack lemon and walter matthau right after. i was 12 or 13 and everyone else in there was in their 70s. it was awesome.

i was a big fan of grumpier old men at the time and i was like sheeeet it's these two motherfukers again. dis gon be good.

and it was. diane cannon was still a piece.

Def interstellar in imax or whatever crazy theater format was poppin at the time.


Oddly enough on my dolby atmos and oled setup at home, my favorite experience was the battle of the bastards episode of game of thrones. The one shot take of Jon snow was one of most insane dolby atmos audio experiences I've ever heard in theater or on my home setup. The way the music leads into a dead stop, then it's just visceral sounds of violence and horse trampling, it's one of the best scenes I've experienced.

i stored my dvd's in this way.

best theater experience for my home theatre: mad max fury road, the dark knight rises, the revenant, shazam, blade runner 2049, mission impossible fall out, the equalizer, dredd, aquaman, ready player one, joker, dune, hobbs and shaw

Man I don’t know, could probably dig into some oldies from the ‘90s

But Infinity War in the VIP theatre opening week was pretty wicked and reminded me why theatres still have their place

I remember really enjoying Man of Steel in full 3d. The Superman vs Zod fight made me nut. Also loved the Interstellar black hole in 3d. I actually remember really loving Thor in 3d as well.

I love 3d movies, and I wish more were shot that way. It's basically the only reason to go to a theater now for me. Otherwise I just stream chit.

As far as most memorable experience from movies in general, certainly Star Wars, LOTR, and Saving Private Ryan spring to mind.

For me it was seeing Braveheart and Pulp Fiction in the theaters.

I was so engrossed in them I forgot where I was. And both times I saw them with the same person.

Can remember two, both with a big group of friends:

Terminator 2 (yes, I'm old). Whole theatre lost it when Arnie said "come with me if you want to live". Cheering, everyone into it.

First LOTR, also with a big group of friends - nerdgasm and it was an epic movie as well. People dressed up, went all out.

I think we were watching some Minion movie where the bad guy shrunk the moon. I got it mixed up with another movie, and took a solid 9/10 there. She was awesome and jerked my throbber the entire movie, while I felt up the smoothest, tightest honeypot imaginable.

So yeah, that was my greatest movie theatre experience. Pounding female arse at the Drive-in is up there too, but not exactly a movie theatre.

Went to see a movie, and Lebron James was at the theatre. I was going to get popcorn and walking towards him. He ran out of the theatre and went to twitter saying all the white people are going after him

I've only gone and seen a handful of Movies in theatres over the last decade. Literally the most memorable experience I've had is seeing Dredd in 3D, that was probably over 10 years ago

Movie theaters stop being impressive in any sort of way once you're an adult unless it involves a girl blowing you in the back row.

Since you said movie theater experience. I gotta go with Avatar. I've watched the movie on dvd and tv later and its pretty meh. But i was living in Doha, Qatar at the time and there was this baller ass mall with a ridiculous theater and I saw Avatar for the first time in IMAX 3D. And it wasn't the little 3D glasses in a plastic bag they give you in most American theaters no these were gigantic plastic almost like headsets that you 100% had to give back to a person when you left the theater. Goddamn man I felt like i was flying those dragon things in that movie.

Lord of the Rings (All of them but Return of the King comes to mind) Dat der rohirrim charge during the Battle of Pelanor fields at the movie theatre was epic.
