I'm still going to need her to be reasonably intelligent, have a good work ethic, and be even tempered/pleasant to get along with.
I want smart kids. I don't know how much it matters, but I'm sure it matters some how intelligent the parents are. Plus, she's going to be the one raising my kids. I'll be around too, of course, but mothers have tremendous influence. You don't want a stupid woman raising your kids.
Raising kids right is also hard work. It's just an everyday grind and a lot of people can't do it. There are a lot of payoff moments but you don't generally know when those will happen so you just have to keep grinding and tell yourself they are coming. It takes a special women to do that.
Temperment really matters too. Posivity from your wife will make your life better and also your children's.
