Return of the Jedi is 40 next year

It was supposed to be the wrap up to one of the greatest Sci fi trilogies ever. But it was just an ugly mess

I remember waiting for it to come out for the whole 3 years since TESB. Playing with my Star Wars toys, reenacting the "Father" scene between Vader and Luke. At that point, people really weren't sure if it was true or an evil trick to fool Luke.

Life was so simple at that time. No internet gossip about the movie, no spoilers, no way to discuss theories except for with your friends.

I mean it wasn't as good as Empire Strikes back, but it was still better than the filth they are pumping out now

the entire Jabba's Palace part alone makes it a solid flick

dat Jabba
dat Rancor
dat Leia bikini

and what comes after wasn't even that bad, you could argue about the Ewoks but even then could be worse

Not at all.

See Luke as a Jedi
See Leia in slave bikini
Han Saved
Sad Yoda death
See Emperor, then see him die
Vader redeemed
See Vader's face
Happy ending

The disappointing thing was waiting so many years, then getting the Phantom Menace.

Each of the prequels got better. Revenge of the sith is 10x better if one watches the clone wars chronologically with the movies. It makes Anakin's turn to the dark side not seem to be so abrupt and sudden.

That's funny. Not a fan of Goonies either. Go figure.

Ah, yes. Star Wars Episode 6... the movie where George Lucas began the process or ruining Star Wars as much as possible by introducing Ewoks in place of the original script that involved the rebels teaming up with Wookies on Chewbacca's home planet to fight the Empire instead of the teddy bears bs we ended up with.

the biggest problem with the whole star wars franchise is it oversimplifies good and evil and makes it out to be polar opposites.

Did you watch Andor? There has been more recent content that aims to be more realistic about the issue.

yeah that is true the new disney + stuff does shine more light on it being grey. I just wonder why everything had to be so black and white back then.
