Anyone ever make eggnog from scratch? (christmascels GTFIH)
Feeling more festive this year. Got a number of different family events coming up and I wanted to add to my chevy chase xmas vacation-esque yearly hosting party and make a homemade eggnog. I raise hens so I get many 'free range' eggs daily. I make my own mayo and am looking to add to my repertoire of making stuff with eggs. I found a nice looking recipe online I plan on following but I was just wondering if anyone here had tried making this stuff from scratch? There's a pissening amount of sugar but it's once a year. Might dump some spiced rum in it afterwards and drink it out of a little crystal moose cup.
Here's a picture of one of my big black coqs contrasting sickeningly against that white snow. This chicken would provide one of the eggs.

Look up Alton Brown's aged eggnog. I made a small batch last year to try - was good from the start, but really does get better over the next year. I've tried a bit here and there this season from last year's batch and it's not off, not making me sick or anything. Will probably do another small batch.

I make a homemade adult eggnog. It's always a hit, last year I had to make an extra batch Christmas afternoon.
Freedom of speech is a principle pillar of a free government; when this support is taken away, the constitution of a free society is dissolved and tyranny is erected on its ruins.
