Avatar 2 was incredible.

I went in with no expectations even though i saw the first. It was 3 hours long and there was not a dull moment in it. Visually stunning and very good storytelling.

I haven't really seen many movies lately. I kind of think the problem is we are turning into a hater culture, people just like to complain. Pair that with streaming killing movie theatres and people are just putting way too much stock or value into dwindling box office numbers movies are seeing today. Not really an opinion on the movie, just todays general state of affairs

I agree OP. I was blown away. Was a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned. Not crazy about James Cameron's political views but damn this was a great movie!

I mean I get it but avatar is for watching in imax 3d in theatres with the stupid glasses on.

Gonna blog out all the stupid chit that goes on in the background. Enjoy my cool 3d experience that is a human masterpiece in that realm of medium, and not really think about all the weird bullchit people spend their time on. It’s all semantics unless your willing to forsake society anyways.

Am I the only one who thought it sucked nuts? The visuals were amazing yes, wish I would have been booming it would have been life changing, but the forcibly filled plot holes, lack of build up, weak characters, plateaued action and overall cringe was too much to get over.

The movie climaxed 2 hours in and drug out for another hour.

The relationship between spider and the colonel was so forced just to create a conduit for sequels. BRB, they act like they couldn’t care less about each other for 2 1/2 hrs, then in the last 5 minutes everything changes for no reason at all.

Also, why didn’t that chick plug into the underwater tree and dominate everything after she figured out how to not die while she was doing it?

Avatar 2 is one of the best animated movies out right now

The 3D was actual 3D since the movie was filmed with 3D cameras.

Is it worth going to the cinema for 3+ hours to watch this, or is it better to watch it in a month lying on the couch at home?

Only thing that bothered me was the hippy marine was a dumbass dad who kept letting his retard kids make the same mistake, and he was being such a dramatic bitch.

Crazy alien girl has the right idea.

But I’m still watching it from the perspective of a redemption story for the colonel. Hope he fukking torches everyone, rules as new master of his own planet with his spyder boy as his heir.

Realistically not gonna happen but we all have hopes

I usually don't care about the "experience", and even watch movies on my phone a lot of the time. But Avatar 2,Top Gun Maverick, Mad Max Fury Road etc are some that need to be seen on a good screen.

No chit. Didn't they need the movie to make over $2 billion dollars just to break even? Throw a billion dollars at a project and see how well it looks. With that type of money they could turn a movie about a turd into a visual master piece. Lol at how low the ball is set these days for a movie to be the "best".

Visually, it delivered. Plot wise.... it was lame as fuk. A str8 repeat of Avatar 1, srs.

I almost fell asleep twice in it. First when the one dude spent half an hour hanging out with the whale, and then at the end when the ship was sinking.

I will admit... no one sinks a ship like James Cameron. But when everybody was like "OMFG, I'm trapped! This is the end!", I'm like STFU, none of you are actually in danger. You've got like 4 more of these movies to go.

I'll put it like this. Top Gun 2 was the fukking GOAT, and it had pretty cheesy plotting and characters, but Tom Cruise and co polished that movie up within an inch of its life. I remember one reviewer described it well as "thudding plot beats, landing with watchmaker precision".

In contrast, Avatar feels bloatmaxxed. James Cameron wants an unhurried feel to the movie where you can just chill out in his CGI wonderland, but pretty much every scene continues long after we've got the point. Especially in a movie where the plot and characters are pretty much designed to be as shallow as a kids movie.... we don't need to hang out with some fukking cardboard cutouts for that long. You could trim 30-60 mins off that movie and lose nothing.
