Starting reading books again and it's changing my life
I was a huge bookworm as a kid/teenager. Loved reading. The mandatory reading periods in school never felt mandatory to me.
Anyways, now I'm busy being an adult, working a job, there's Netflix and hbomax, internet, Instagram etc. My attention span was horrible. Hadn't read a book in years.
Decided I was rotting my mind and needed to start reading books again. Especially when i realized most highly succesful people read a ton (bill gates, david rubenstein, ray dalio etc)First couple days were tough but after a week, I felt like a different person. Now, ive read 800 pages this week. I feel less stress, more at focus, calmer etc.
Outside the misc, I've barely looked at the internet, social media, TV, Netflix or nfl games even (misc is too guilty of a pleasure).
100% srs. Start reading books boyos.

Same here brah. I actually started using audiobooks before jumping back into books, as i wanted to ease myself into it. but it's so calming and you feel legitimately more happy while reading them.
7. Goals in life:
1. Phuck a girl from every country.
2. Impregnate foreign sloots and flee the country
3. Achieve spiritual/physical and sexual enlightenment
4. Live in Tuscany. There I will share a passionate encounter with an olived skinned, curly haired, italian goddess
5. Learn Spanish/Italian/Russian and Arabic
6. Become a buddhist monk and go awol in the Himalayan mountains
7. Live in Egypt for a year, where I would spend many nights plowing the allah out of Egyptian goddesses

Truth OP. I try to read a book a month.
But if you want truly life changing results..
Now before you mock, laugh, or dismiss it away..just try it for 30 days. I promise you your life will change for the better.

There's an official book thread on misc.
I have been reading a lot lately. I started late but I have finished 10 books so far this year. I am mostly into self help or self development. My goal for next year is around 30 to 40 books.

reading this book about lincoln and his cabinet, and it talks about how they all basically read a chit ton back then. thousands of pages a week. they read everything they could get their hands on. they could get up in congress and give 3 hour speeches on a whim referencing specific things other brilliant men had written (since they read it at one point) with little to no preparation. the political debates back then you would speak for one hour and then the person would give a 1 hour rebuttal.....
they were extremely well spoken, well read, and had insane levels of focus. sort of feels like we've regressed as a society since the introduction of the smart phone (EOD was right). the people who can sit down and focus without distractions for extended periods of time are the ones who will get ahead.

there so many situations where there is a complicated problem with a complicated answer. everyone struggles to condense it down to a short email, because well frankly....its not something that can be simplified. no one is wiling to read the 200 page PDF document that contains the answer. people start ctrl Fing for key words to grab highlights, paste them into a short email summary and send to management (who isnt even willing to read the entire email and needs a quick "voiceover" of the situation).
at the end of the day, no one really understand the situation or the solution (except the person who authored the 200 page document at some think tank firm). If it can't be condensed to a powerpoint page, no one has the attention span to attempt to understand it.

Testosterone needs Estrogen. It's a symbiotic relationship. If a guy has low Estrogen that can lead to low libidio. If there's a population of women on Birth Control that can lead to a population of men with Low Testosterone.
