Yikes! Looks like a lot of issues to have to deal with off the bat. I mean, if you have a really good real estate attorney who knows his stuff, you could have him look into it. Also, Hawaii has land leases so you need to see what your monthly land lease payment would be on top.

You'll pay more for everything, the locals wont like you, everyone you meet that isnt a local is gone by the end of the week, most people are low IQ and the crime is suprisingly violent/bad for a tropical island.

Best part is the nature and its being ruined every day more and more.

Hard non factual opinions by someone who visited for a week and had a friend spend the summer.

Yes, Hawaii is just as expensive as Cali or New York.

No, locals are extremely friendly, but like literally everywhere else, there are *******s.

Hawaii is not like the mainland, where if you were to disrespect someone, we won't let it slide as easilyLocals here actually enjoy fighting.

Nature is definitely getting destroyed, but mostly on the developing islands. The country islands don't have the same issue.

Property crime here is bad, a lot of chronics and homeless trying to rip off people. And we have a catch and release system, so none of them stay in jail long.

Super expensive, everything must be shipped here so it's expensive. Unless you have family or friends you can stay with here you will get owned financially.

One of the most important things to look at when buying real estate there is make sure it’s not leasehold ded srs

Basically leasehold in Hawaii means you own the building but not land, fee simple is traditional and you own land and building

Also yeah, islanders are dumb as fuk srs

What happens if there's a massive storm? one giant ass wave and that house is history. Then again judging by the interior that house is old as fuark. The view and loaction tho, amazing, would sacrifice every miscer alive to live there.

from what I've heard lots of drugs, gets boring real real fast...huge % of migrants move back to the mainland within 5 years. really bad traffic...easy to get tickets for anything or nothing. lots of homeless.

alll you gotta do is ask yourself "how many people have vacationed there, thought the same thing moving to, did so and regretted it?"

oh yeah really really far away. i think it sounds great in theory though.

Everything in hawaii is expensive. More expensive than california.

With that price , the house must have a lot of issues. As is expected with the descriptions. lol

You might not have a house the next day because of shoreline erosion lol.

"Property has current land use violations and faces on going challenges with shoreline erosion. Buyers to do their own due diligence with regards to, but not limited to, use of property, setback restrictions, potential violation fines and enforcement actions by DLNR. CASH ONLY"
I am not 52 not sure why is stating that as my age. I am 29 :)

So nice of you to pick out the house that the soon to be ex will be getting gangbanged in, while you are paying the mortgage on it with child support (after she takes half of your current assets in the divorce).

But we know that you are just a larp anyway, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Hawaii is half Filipino now, if I remember correctly.

Depends if that is Local dominated or already mixed with whites/asians. A good agent will make sure you move into the correct area, but you pay more for that. You can become friendly with the locals but it takes time and patience.

10 years ago, there was probably 10-20 ft + sandy beach in front of that house.

wouldn't be surprised if when that house was built, there was like 50 ft of sandy beach.

some houses on that coast have already fell into the ocean, srs.

Check reviews. Some people used to complain about too many bugs and possibly salt water damaging cars, cost of living higher.

Why not opt for Florida instead?

I lived in Oahu for 7 years. Here’s my 2 cents.

It’s low iq because the public schools are terrible. There’s no incentive for these kids to study and work hard because most jobs pay chit and revolve around tourism. There’s also very little parent involvement in their schooling because they are too busy working.

Most of the high paying jobs are in Oahu and even then, they aren’t enough to raise a family. I was making over 150k and my wife over 50k; despite all that money, we were middle class. You won’t find that kind of salary on the other islands unless you are one of the few doctors, lawyers, engineers, etc.

Lots of Asians there obviously but most of them are average people making average money.

A lot of locals are on that govt handout time. Hawaii gives out one of the most in state benefits compared to other states, so there’s no incentive for people to improve their lives. You’ll see huge Polynesian families shopping in Costco, loading up their shopping carts and paying with that there welfare card. I’ve seen it plenty of times where you’ll have three Hawaiian/Samoan sisters with 4-5’kids and shopping and their carts are full. They all live together, so they pool their resources to feed their families. Again, no incentive to improve, otherwise they lose the govt handouts.

Bottom line. High cost of living and low paying jobs, low inventory of available and affordable homes has turned hawaii chitty. It’s on its way to be like California with increasing homeless people, meth heads and thefts.

Filipinos are the largest minority group in Hawaii, then Japanese.

People that are mixed/part Asian make up over half of the state.
