Imagine not paying rent, saving up serious cash to out a down payment on a home

I lived in a camper when I first moved out, then a cottage/cabin, then a spacious house tucked away in the woods

I have a buddy that works 6.5 months / year HARD, And takes the rest of the year off down south with his trailer, He has never gone to the same place twice, Always a seasonal lot with a golf course on the property.


Probably one of the happiest guys I know..

I want 3 acres in the woods for 65k lol


Wife and I lived in a travel trailer for a year with 4 dogs lol.
Was the most affordable way to live where I work.
We stayed at an rv park for 420 a month.
Basically lived in a fairly luxurious RV for less a month than a chit tier apartment.

This was the rv, pretty legit. Ended up selling it for a loss of course as they don’t hold value but did better than anyone expected.

I’ve lived in an RV for 3 years and I’m kinda sick of it. It’s not easy and it’s a different way of living

I’d hate paying rent more though

I think we’d have lasted way longer if we were actually traveling instead of just stationary.
We actually just bought another (although significantly smaller) travel trailer.

i think the srs ones have to like be mechanics as well because i always see them tearing apart the engine compartment of their bombed out RVs srs

Don’t have any pics now and traveling but I’m set up on my land in a forest River mini light totally stationary. Traveling would be fun but just be ready yo do more repairs. I have to do a lot and I’m stationary

Took out the dinette and put a desk in

Took out the bunks and made it a storage closet

Use calyx institute for internet, not hard wired cable available without paying $$$$

Maryland, technically it’s not legal. I’m not sure it’s legal anywhere. I’m in a secluded dirt road though only a few minutes from town

Have a gf doesn’t live with me

I bought property with a old trailer and access to redo the utilities, but county wouldn’t let me get a permit to replace it. Decided to put an RV on it

thought about it but tbh lot rent costs just as much as an apartment. plus if you get a drivable instead of tow behind you got to worry about very costly repairs/maintenance/ driving a big ****ing rv everywhere.

honestly the only way i could see it being tolerable is buying a piece of land near a river/lake or in the mountains and making setting up a camper spot and stay in it while building a cabin. i think i would go crazy if i had to live in one on the road, dealing with ******* drivers, etc. plus you'd spend like $1000/month on gas if you're actually travelling.


sounds miserable tbh.
