Unpopular opinion - Rhodesians weren't actually cool and fun

There's a ton of positive imagery, even on cucktube and other lefty social media. Lots of Rhodesia merchandise like flags, patches, etc. on proud boys and right wing shooters. Larry Vickers openly simps for Rhodesia on instagram.

brb small group of English colonists invaded in 1896, stole 70% of the land and assets and made the local BBC's essentially slaves to work to death in the mines.
brb small white minority invaders now controlled most of the land, natural resources, media, banking, politics, and all valuable assets<-- DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO OUR SITUATION?
brb 50 years go by. After WWII, mother England said, "ok brahs, you had your fun, now you can fukk off back to England or at least not enslave the locals. Your choice."
brb "No! We country now. Best we can do is hold elections, but ONLY WHITE MONEYMOGGERS CAN VOTE. FINAL OFFER."
brb colonists disowned by England and throw a fit, spending 15 years trading unspeakable war crimes in the bush before finally getting kicked out forever by a bunch of angry impoverished BBC's

TL;DR Rhodesians weren't brave Aryan warriors fighting for white ideals, they were corrupt thieves trying to set up their own version of Israel in Africa.

In b4 but but Mugabe sucked, too! Yeah no chit.

Banger tracks, though. Also, cool looking flag.

Based thread.

Now apply the same logic to Hitler. These "proud boys" are imperialist diet coke fascists who should be shot if they try anything stupid.

Isn't it exactly the same, not a parallel like you're implying?

At least that was the case in South Africa, for example Nathan Rothschild.

The Rothschild's still control mining and exploit the land and people, meanwhile the poor powerless Afrikaners are the scapegoats for that exploitation, and are frequently violently targeted by the local blacks, after being spoonfed the sort or nonsense we heard here during the BLM riots, which is commonplace at universities. Who's doing all this? Is it related to what you've bolded?

Seems like many countries have this same phenomenon. A tiny group of very powerful people gain control over a country's wealth and obfuscate their methods just enough to make the poors fight with each other.

It's a tale as old as time. Divide and conquer. It takes a true champion of the poor like Xi Jinping to fix it -- someone who crawled out of the gutter and who will tirelessly fight to build a better world.

I think this is a known fact, and anyone who doesn't know it is a complete moron.

But people idolize it not for what it was, but for the romanticism behind it; us whites having our own little carved out space in Africa by force.

Imagine a tiny minority came here and said "Ok we own everything now. You can either be a servant for us or go to the mines to make money for us, if you want to live."

You are going to simp for capitalism/cronyism?

I disagree with some parts of your historical retelling of the events that led up to the UDI, primarily that the representatives of the RoR were totally unwilling to integrate blacks in to the body politic (they were almost exclusively opposed to the UK's insistence on No Independence Before Majority Rule) which turned out to be a pretty forward-thinking policy to have considering that immediately after Majority Rule was implemented, horrific, racially motivated crimes against whites became commonplace and the government instituted openly racist policies against whites using the technology and political machine given to them by white people.

BRB give people who have no history or tradition of democratic institutions and advanced technology both with absolutely no barriers or pre-conditions. What could go wrong? Of course there were people who opposed that.

This is the core issue isn't it? This defines the problem. And this is the noble part of the communists' mission. They sought to end imperialism and chauvinism. They didn't understand the intricacies of economics well, and Marx's extremism was also harmful to civilizations. But there were also noble aims of communism: a kind of egalitarianism where every citizen feels integrated into the community and valued and respected, the eradication of poverty, the providing of healthcare and education for all, and a virtuous allegiance to the common good and the welfare of humanity. The commies went through their days of reckoning. The CCP now has a mixed market and so does Russia. But they never abandoned those noble goals. It is time for America to have its reckoning too. We must acknowledge that greed is NOT good, and that consumption for its own sake is a toxic and unsustainable way to exist. We must cease our militaristic imperialism and build a better future of cooperation with the rest of the Earth.

Why do you think the UK supported "No Independence Before Majority Rule" in the first place? To create the illusion that they were freeing their colonies, when really they were trading hands for other wealthy globalists to exploit? It's hard to believe that they'd be naive enough, whoever really has sway over there, to think things would work out well for black Africans. It's also hard to believe they actually cared about black Africans, the leadership of the UK I mean.

This is a genuine question btw. I'm interested in what you think.

I think out of 66 seats in parliament, 16 were black and 50 were reserved white. Pretty small bone.

But the natives were always going on a revenge tour. Same as every other time in history something like this happened.

To go from non-representative imperial rule, to 30% of parliament may sound like a small bone to you but I think it's pretty progressive. Especially considering that, again, these territories had absolutely zero history of democratic rule or industrial revolution technology. And that was just to start. The white Rhodesians fully understood that they would need to expand black representation if they expected to not just be invaded by the PF-- I do agree though that the revenge tour was inevitable, which to me seems like a pretty good reason not to decolonize in the first place.

The United Kingdom, United States, and other Europeans powers did a lot more than just look the other way while Mugabe's PF tried (and got eternally BTFO) to slaughter the Rhodesians, they actively blockaded South African ports to prevent them from receiving any international support at all.

It's a complete farce, entirely apart from the glory of the white race and all this-- those were their countrymen and they were left to die at the hands of literal illiterate savages. I don't happen to believe that natives have any more right to land then explorers and colonists. If your society has built nothing but thatched huts and spears for the last 2000 years, you should be replaced by people who are exploting natural wealth and minerals in order to advance mankind.

I think the UK was getting a lot of pressure from USA to decolonize and the USA insisted on Majority Rule because they are myopic cucks who believe that African bush people are just as capable as Brits to handle representative democracy. It's same mistake they made in Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc.

Representative democracy requires an educated, informed, and engaged population otherwise it's Mugabe: one man, one vote, one time. The founding fathers understood this, which is why they limited the vote to landed freemen-- just like Rhodesia tried to do. It's only since then that America has become obsessed with universal suffrage, no matter how harmful and ineffective it proves to be again and again

"The savages." LOL you'd be nothing if your country were conquered and your people subjugated. You don't know anything. This country is rapidly descending into savagery as we speak due to a decline in math and science literacy.
