Glucosamine lowers IGF-1?
I take this supplement for my joints, but then I came across this study which has me worried. I didn't know it had any effect on IGF-1.
In summary, our results indicate that glucosamine is an effective inhibitor of the IGF-1R/Akt pathway. The findings of the present study provide evidence supporting the value of glucosamine as an effective and non-toxic IGF-1R blocking agent for cancer therapeutics.

It used to be made from chitin (i chit you not), and now it's made from Aspergillus niger. Do you really want to put that stuff inside of you?
