I went to Puerto Vallarta and was pretty impressed the locals there, atleast the ones that work on and around the resort, speak better ingles than the ones in California.

Legit was embarrased when I asked a girl "donde esta el bano", and she replied, "right over there" in perfect english

looks like any random beach anywhere on the planet. i don't get beach vacationcells, mountain cabins are where its at

I'm interested in a trip to Mexico but I want better beaches then that and clearer water.

Beach trips can be fun if you do some swimming/snorkling/diving. The idea of just laying in the sand and getting burned by the sun does not appeal to me though.

Anywhere near the Tropic of Cancer or south of it will have clearer and warmer waters. OP is likely somewhere in the north unless the seaweed is doing that to the water.

Beach trips can be fun if you do some swimming/snorkling/diving. The idea of just laying in the sand and getting burned by the sun does not appeal to me though.
diving in reefs does sound really fun. never understood the npc style beach pampering vacations, i can sit around drink and relax at home just fine.

The mountains can be GOAT if you are into the out-doors/physical activity.

In the wintertime snowboarding/skiiing, snowmobiling. And chilling in a hot-tub/around a fire. In the summer time hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, mountain biking, etc.
