There is only 1 proof of the universe being a simulation. When a photon (light) is shot towards 2 holes, when observed it will move as a particle through one of the holes. When it's not observed, it will turn into a wave to conserve energy, go through both holes and then return to 1. If the wave formation is observed after it happened, the photon will go back in time and appear as a particle

This raises the question of how much of the universe exists if it's not observed. If every observer acknowledges existence in 1 direction, does everything in the other direction change its state until it's observed again?

When you look at the universe as it is, everything is uniform and follows rules. But when you look at it in smaller terms such as Quarks, the universe favors randomness and disorder.

When you combine this, the universe has to be a simulation. It requires an observer for anything random to happen, otherwise nothing in the universe would move. iirc this is called the heat death of the universe

Hmm not literally, but there's been a lot of theory on our Universe being "holographic".

It's a lot to unpack so I suggest looking into it some more if that interests you.
