When someone invites you to something, and you say you're busy or can't, is it rude..

For them to ask what you're up to or what you have going on?

I swear, as someone in his mid 30's, several friends have invited me to something, and I said I can't go, and they will ask me why or what else do you have planned. It's like "wtf," maybe it might be something personal I have going on, or in many cases, I just don't want to go. Is this rude of them to ask, or am I overreacting? It's like dude, maybe I want to just stay home, fap, drink, and watch football, and that's none of your business.
