So it came up in conversation that they had it. How can I trust this person anymore going forward? If their judgement led them to the decision to get an expiremental gene therapy for a cold they had a 99.98% chance to not die from, then how could trust any of their decisions in the workplace. They could make poor judgement in the workplace and cause harm to myself and the other able bodies.
Should I go to HR?

At the very least.
Are they operating machinery or doing something that could impact the safety of others? You never know when climate change will strike, they could be endangering someone with their refusal to trust the science

if your job requires critical thinking, especially involving any heavy machinery I would certainly take this up with HR immediately.
