Why do you hate socializing with your coworkers?

Something I see often on the internet, is that people hate their coworkers to the point they try to avoid any non work related interactions with them. Why is that?

I will and have left projects because the team is chit, and I’ll do it again. Ain't got time for that crap when most of my life is spent at work, having a team that meshes is legit the #1 deciding factor.

Still go for lunch, to Christmas parties, etc with people I worked with 5 years ago

This. It's hard to judge who you can really trust at work. If you speak too freely with some people they will 100% try to get you fired.

I like my coworkers srs. Being ****** + ESL is always a barrier (and sometimes a BIG one... I met a ****** who didn't know who Tom Cruise was). But my life for the last 10 years looks a lot like their life for the last 10 years so we've all got a lot of common experiences.
