I'm confused about the goals of sociopaths/ASPD?

They have a tendency to 'manipulate'

Let's say I meet a sociopath and he manipulates me into doing what? I don't get it.

What kind of irresponsible acts? Legit can't think of anything other than them crying and acting as losers to have me loan them money. And I never loan money so this will not work on me.

Some sociopaths have convinced others to commit murder with them.

They just are mentally ill but they lack remorse for their actions. They lie, cheat and will try to control you to do things that would otherwise be against your values.

It's very rare that they will seek professional help.

Okay so I guess they prey on retards and low IQ people because otherwise 'manipulating' someone into committing murder with them is impossible.
