I PRAY it is similar to the Knights of the Old Republic games, in that you can make Light/Dark Side choices.

Not a Harry Potter in the slightest, but the game actually looks.... kinda neat, not gonna lie. I can see how HP fans would be excited about it tho. Character customization, throwing magic spells, flying around on a Griffon, etc

it looks too good to be true. I dont think its possible it could suck based on what they've showed so far but I do think it will end up relatively disasppointing.

I remember playing the old school PS1 Harry Potter game as a kid.

If this game came out prior to age 20ish I'd be all up in it. Great graphics, flying, open world stuff, a decent array of spells and stuff, best looking gameplay that a Harry Potter game has ever seen, etc.

Something about this game that I've seen is kind of off-putting to me though. Maybe now it's because my game expectations are a bit higher from playing other games, or I look at the systems/design-choices by developers as lazy or dumb.

When I was watching the gameplay reveal videos I noticed all the NPCs in Hogwarts are literally static and not even walking around or talking, looked lifeless. But one thing that I really don't think I could stand is dealing with all of the 9-12 year old quest givers. It'd be one thing if the game was like Bully or something. But those characters annoy the chit out of me from what I've seen.

I don't think people are worrying about it being bad. I think they're afraid it could be average/mediocre....Which would be a disappointment after all the hype.

there are so many ways for this to happen

- repetitive side quests a la ubisoft
- bad story
- bad dialogue
- bad characters
- clunky gameplay mechanics
- bugs

cant tell whether any if the above will be happen just from the gameplay vids. im still hyped but i am also tempering my expectations

If it gets stellar reviews I'll get it. I game less than once a week now and my backlog is ridiculously long. Still need to finish Cyberpunk 2077, GoW, and 4 class stories on SWTOR. Thats pretty much my whole year at my current gaming rate.

This. I’m honestly sick to death of Harry Potter in general, but the game looks legit. My wife isn’t much of a gamer but loves HP so I’m hoping she’ll like it if I pick it up. The fact that libs are pushing for a boycott makes me want to buy it as well.

anybody who thinks this looks 'amazing' has chit taste and the mind of a child. The gameplay looks trash, the world is pretty but will probably be extremely empty and boring. It's the equivalent of a movie game. I mean, look at the resume of the company that's developing it. Their last 20 titles have all been chitty cash-grab movie games and Disney trash. This game won't be any different.

deeply concerned at some of you if this is the kind of game you're willing to shell out money for. Jesus fuking christ some of you are fully grown adults and you're still getting hyped over harry potter.
