I've hitched a few rides and picked up a few people when i lived in the country. wouldnt dare try it in the city.


also extremely common along the appalachian trail for hikers going to town or trailheads.

My Dad used to pick up hitchhikers in the 70s, but it was a different world back then.

I used to see them in the 80s regularly, but I can't tell you the last time I saw a hitchhiker?! Where did OP come up with that question?

My friends dad picked up some natives on a reservation. 2 guys and a chick. One dude took off a shoe lace and tried to strangle him though the seat. He pulled over. They all got out, and one of the guys pulled out a golf club from the trunk. Was getting ready to beat him with it when the woman started screaming and they all ran away. He was lucky.

I almost picked up this hot chick hitchhiker once. But then seemed like a bad idea.

You're asking the wrong question. The hitch hiker is the one at the most risk. Any random driver could be a psycho and pick them up and torture them to death.

But all of the drivers have only a few hikers to choose from, so they are less likely to pick up a random psycho.

That being said.... I never ever pick up hitch hikers.
