Fuk, stay safe. This had to be a pilot error, clear skies and daytime.

You can dramatically reduce your chances of this happening by not flying Yeti Airways.

Hard to say.. The ATR 72 has been in over 40 some accidents, And has taken a lot of lives, These prop planes are sketchy, There is crash sequences of this exact plane reconstructed on YouTube. If you loose one of the engines, it becomes a giant anchor in a hurry.

The gear is down as well, Further making the thing a land anchor.

This could be significant. I believe this plane was landing at an airport which has been operational since....

Wait for it....

2:weeks ago.

"The airport [Pokhara Intl] was inaugurated by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on 1 January 2023. To celebrate the occasion, the city of Pokhara declared the day a public holiday."

My first trip to Asia, I was broke and wanted to go from Penang to Kuala Lumpur for the weekend.

Every big name airline, the tickets were $200-$300.... except this one poverty local airline it was $59 so I did it. Ho lee fook never again. Everything on that plane was vibrating like a harley from the 80's. It was some tiny plane from the Soviet era srs. Felt like an absolute maroon.

Now, because Nepal is a third world chithole, when planes do crash - as they often do - the complete passenger manifest is immediately posted on Twitter.

So we can see that the Misc has tragically lost one of their own in this horrible accident.

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you all that the solitary Australian passenger on this flight was in fact....

Stalled out. The angle and then wing dip at the end. Most smaller countries use prop-liners and the hours and requirements to pilot those are stupidly low (assuming it wasn't mechanical). More chance of survival over being in a jet though.

Interesting that the guy from Ireland was using Ctrip which is mainly used for flying in and out of China. Probably a teacher traveling on the upcoming New Years holiday. Did LOL at Myron Love. He was Myron the views and then lost all the love. Looks like there were quite a few vacationing couples on there, that's sad.

I'm not a pilot, just an enthusiast, but there's been times where I have been a little uneasy about some of the angles and 'feel' during some of my travels. So far so good. But yeah, dropping and sinking out of nowhere must suck. I remember on a cross Pacific flight, was sitting towards the back and heard some kind of a loud bang/pop, but nothing happened and the crew didn't seem concerned. Freaked me out though.

Some take off angles pilots use are scary af. I remember taking off from Calgary on a small boeing 737, and I swear the pilot banked the plane almost 45 degrees like a minute after takeoff, while still climbing steeply

I have been to Pokhara.
That looks like a really scary way to die.

In the first video, I'm sure everyone was thinking they were coming in and going to make it, then the plane flips over and you are going to get CRUSHED TO DEATH and SET ON FIRE.

I'm not a big fan of flying.

Takeoffs are 2-3 degrees per second with no more than 20 degrees nose up. Approaches are typically with a 3-5 down angle. That averages roughly between 5-1000 feet per minute. Because you are flying at slower speeds the feel and changes of the aircraft are much more pronounced.
