Washing gym shirts effectively?

For real lifters.

How are you guys washing gym shirts to get rid of sweat smells effectively?

PS: incels stay out. OG preferred.

Don't throw them in your hamper wet with sweat. Let them dry out before they sit in a pile until laundry day. It's a game changer, srs.

Let them dry, don’t ball up and toss in the hamper. Add a cup or two of white vinaigre to the washer when you wash them.

Don't use poverty detergent. Tide Active with Febreze.. never had an issue

I don’t really have “gym shirts” I just use a system to save time and money on laundry

First I wear a shirt out then I wear it to work the next day. After just two wears it should start to smell just a little. Then it becomes a gym shirt, let the sweat dry and it becomes a perfectly good late-night jizz rag. Once that drys it becomes a dish rag then I use it to clean my counter tops. Just toss it in the machine on cold with good detergent then hang dry and you should be good

Persil laundry detergent alone will take care of most bad odors. It works pretty well even on stuff like pet piss stained rags and towels, srs.

If that isn't good enough, add in a laundry sanitizer like Lysol laundry liquid additive or Oxygon powder that has the sanitizer stuff added to it.

Always wash them on hot water, not cold or warm. If those three things together won't work, then do the same thing, except let it soak in a batch of hot water/persil/laundry sanitizer in a slop sink for a few hours and rinse 'em out before putting them in the machine. That last step probably won't be needed, but it's the ace in the hole as a last resort.




Cliffs:

- Persil laundry detergent
- Laundry sanitizer additive (Lysol, Oxygon, or whatever brand)
- Wash on HOT water only

I buy breathable moisture wicking fabrics.
i use Persil, Lysol laundry sanitizer, and Gain pellet fabric softener in hot water.

If that doesnt work then i use one designed for sportswear.
Hex was meh.

unaware... i sweat like a motherfuker in the gym but ive never had gym clothes retain odour after a cycle with tide and dyer sheets.

Hang them right after wearing so they dry and then wash them with strong detergent. They shouldn't be getting that smelly with just sweat though if you use deodorant

This is an important point...is OP working out in poverty cotton shirts and shorts?

You could also try those fragrance beads that you add into the wash.

Arm & Hammer Free & Clear detergent seems to work pretty well for me. Other detergents not so well. Tide is overrated.

the polyester gym spandex type shirts always end up permanently smelling
the cotton tanks never get like that, or anything cotton for that matter. for me anyway
