A spike in egg prices has squeezed customers. But even with rising costs of its own, the leading US egg supplier has found that it can make even more money out of every egg.
Cal-Maine’s profit increased 65% to $198 million during the three months ended Nov. 26 from a year ago.
Ready for $20 eggs this year boyos?Cal-Maine’s profit increased 65% to $198 million during the three months ended Nov. 26 from a year ago.

By me the 60 pack is $29 at walmart
Went about 10 miles away and they are $19.79 at walmart there. Something if fishy.
I quit eggs and wont egg any until they get back below $3. I could have bought the cheaper ones at the other store but its the principal of the thing.
When egg producers are crying and having to sell off their chickens, then i will consider buying eggs again.
Its a plot to remove a cheap protein source and replace it with cereal and other terrible unhealthy foods.
Dont fall for it. Replace them with other proteins.

So they managed to keep their entire supply of chickens flu free during one of the worst avian flu outbreaks we’ve seen and you don’t think that’s why?

My 74 year old uncle sums this fact up with his favorite line that he repeats often.

eggs are just 1

brb 'bird flu' responsible for the spike in egg prices
These guys say no bird flu for them
still charge the same prices as those who were effected by bird flu ...
=
energy costs???
So MAGICALLY their energy costs increased the same amount as the cost of selling eggs for others because of bird flu (which they didnt get), which allowed them to make RECORD PROFITS??? Wut? lol.

If you think its unethical of them don't buy their eggs. I would have done the same thing. They aren't running a charity. If they produced vital medications and did something similar my opinion might be different.

We were all raised to be capitalists. It amuses me when some people get pissy when others are really, really good at it.
Obviously this company has very successful sanitation protocols and they were rewarded for it. You can say they got lucky, but operations this large make their own luck through due diligence.

Solution: raise hens (srs). Most places allow a backyard coop. Live chickens are basically the same price as cooked rotisserie chickens, which is pretty sad when you think about it. Plus, they're super interesting animals and will lay usually an egg a day. I haven't purchased eggs in years and I know what I feed my bitches so it's about as natural and free range as you can get.
I'm about to go outside and feed my hens fresh orange slices (again srs)

Business exists to make profit. Not year over year end record profits while taking advantage of every other countryman. These people have no regard for their fellows, including you. But here you are sucking their slop theyve fed you to make you not only not complain about them fukking you, but enjoying it. You are WORSE than them.

One company posted record profits from exceptional circumstances
Which is the story
But the implication is the price raises are unjustified and all company’s are taking advantage of you in this market. That’s the clickbait and it’s false.
But it gets more views than, one lucky company takes advantage of the market and has a great year. If you want to discuss the ethics of that than site go ahead, but look where all the talking sheep take the article without even reading it. It’s like watching drunk people talk.
Why are you all such manipulated bags of meat.

It sounds like you want someone to provide you with a product at the price you want to pay for it. That's not how it works.
