Is beard oil a scam? (low test ****s stay out)

Sup brahs, been rocking a mid-lenght beard for the past years and wondering if it's worth it getting some beard oil?

They say it makes the hair softer and easier to keep in shape but I feel like it's just a scam. Have tried rubbing in some avocado oil a few times and didnt notice any difference. Not really looking for any weird scent to disrupt my cologne either, so is there any point to it?

I use it daily, I usually get ones that have a vague cedarwood scent it doesn't take over my cologne unless you're using poverty fragrances. Really helps with dry skin and softens it pretty well.

Beard oil is a must, at least for me. Shouldn't overpower a decent scent, can actually compliment it.

Not a scam, as long as it's not being used for growth purposes.

It ultimately helps keep the skin underneath healthy and often has the benefit of smelling good.

I find it necessary to keep my face and beard healthy

I use a heat treatment oil cause I straighten my beard with a straightener

It's maybe around 6-7 inches long so alot of beard

Beard oil is completely unnecessary. So many dudes way overcomplicate facial hair. Just like how the $300 shaving blade you buy at a "The Art of Shaving" mega mall kiosk shop won't actually accomplish much for you that a $15 Harry's disposable cartridge razor can't, "beard oils" aren't gonna do a whole lot more for you than simply washing it and using conditioner in it (conditioner if you're really that worried about it).

If you have really sensitive skin and are trying to rock a giant asssss beard, I'm sure you're right. For most people though, beard oil is overkill.

Beard balm is better. It tames it and you get the moisturising effect.

Depends how long your beard is. I have some in mine today, but I have a good 4 months of growth right now and I’m continuing to grow it. Beard oil keeps the hairs as well as the skin underneath soft and healthy. Smells good too.

But I lol when I see dudes walking around with moist stubble. You don’t need oil at that point.

I put some beard oil in 20 minutes after I shower. I ain't putting it every single morning and night, miss me with that metrosexual chit.

I use it to help keep my hair shapely (keeps the wild hairs on my cheeks down), no fuks given about "softness" as I'm not running my hands thru my beard every other minute. I got it as a gift and I don't think I will buy any myself once it runs out.

My beard is short in length. I use beard balm during the day and oil at night. You can find some unscented oils out there.

I've had a beard for decades now at about 1/2" length and have never used any product in it. Wash it every morning in the shower and run a brush through it.

It's for the skin, not the hair.

I find it's worth it. The scent drives the ladies wild is a nice plus as well.

I'm what you call a beard oil/beard butter wh0re. I like to try different brands. I tend to buy the homemade stuff by small sellers on etsy because they are natural unlike the big stores like Walmart. I prefer beard oil because it's goes on easy and it's fast. Beard butter takes a little more time and can feel a little messy but I switch back and forth with beard oil. It definitely keeps my beard soft and like others say, prevents your skin under your beard from drying out and getting flaky and stops the itchiness if you're a beard noob.

Honest Amish probably makes the best natural beard oils and conditioners. If you can get past the unique scent since it's all natural, give it a chance.
