Bible question: New Testament
In one part of the Bible it says it is harder for a rich man to get in heaven than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle (something like that), but then it also says that if you accept Jesus as the son of God, you will get into heaven. So which one is it?

I think I read somewhere that the aramaic word for rope is the same as camel.
but yeah, there are contradictions or discrepencies between faith based and work based salvation. Did Jesus say that or did one of the authors of the epistles say that? I go with Jesus's words over Pauls, even though the gospels were supposedly written after paul's letters. Also worth noting textual criticism puts the authorship of a lot of the epistles into dispute.

Interesting, we have the same verse. Mind you, we believe Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) preached the same message (of monotheism) so it wouldn't be odd to find this statement in prior scriptures and to find some truths remaining in them (although I don't base my salvation on it whatsoever).
Quran 7:40
Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.

Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

also, the gospel of John is a little bit different that the 3 synoptic gospels and written a little bit later. I think in the gospel of john it's attributed to Jesus to believe in him for salvation, but I don't think he says that in the synoptic gospels. I think textual criticism says the gospel of John was written by a community of folowers of Jesus to address theological questions.

Sounds like the faith and good works argument.
The point of this is to actually accept his teachings, you need to integrate them by not doing things like acting classist. Some say faith alone, but they're cherry-picking instead of dealing with everything.
