How hard is it to rent an apartment with chit credit..

What if I offer to pay 6-12 months rent upfront?

You think they would go for that?

As well as showing a bank account balance of $150k+ liquid?

i know people who have had to get cosigners on the lease because of either bad credit or no job at the time.

Also know a guy who had his own food truck business, most of it cash. on his tax return he reported losses so he ended up having to write himself checks (even though it was his business) to show proof of income so he could rent an apartment.

Credit is honestly a great way to unbiasedly judge if someone is willing and capable of paying their bills.

The downside is the system sells all your data.

Anyone who hates on “credit” is either uneducated on the subject or s deadbeat like OP who doesn’t pay his bills.

OP, if srs, I’ll throw you a bone. It will be difficult to be considered by some rentals. If you have a good reason for your bad credit then write a written explanation to provide with the application. Include any documents you have that might prove your case like a dispute. You can also offer a larger security deposit and/or multiple months rent. The best thing to do it be 100% honest about your situation. I’d also focus on private listings that owners are managing that might be more willing to listen to your situation. A property management company that gets a “better applicant” will just move on because it’s all a numbers game.

I hope that helps.
