Anyone else miss MW2? (srs)

The OG MW2, not the new one

POV: it’s 2009. You just got home from school (or work), it’s the weekend. Boot up MW2, ice cold monster energy, 5 gum, headset on. Your mom is making burger and fries for dinner. You are so close to hitting level 70 and prestiging for the first time. You just got quickscoped by a 12 year old who had sex with your mom last night and is now telling you about it. This is very unsettling. However, you don’t care because the game is too good. You just got Fall camo for your favourite weapon - blissfully unaware that you will lose it when you prestige. But it’s okay, you’ll get it back. Life is good.

How do we get this back?

No but I miss pwning nubs in counter-strike beta on my lightning fast dsl back in 2000. Deagleying ****ggots right in the face from across the map and noscope awp whoring for the lulz.

oh boy... both MW2 and CS 1.6 bring back some memories. Good times, no worries, just gaming.

Heck yeah I remember MW2. Lots of iconic multiplayer maps but the airport was particularly memorable. Spec Ops was brand new and interesting.

TBH though OP, what you're describing right now is nostalgia of being young and newer to the industry of gaming. Pandora's box has been opened since OG MW2 (2009, 14 years ago). Now we expect life-like graphics, perfect internet connectivity, good but non-invasive UI, realistic gunplay, innovative and fun game modes. The pressure is intense for devs, and the standards are as high as ever for older gamers.

That said, I'm enjoying CoD MW2 as a casual game. I play WoW + RS3 as the main games, CoD is something for if there's extra free time. Sometimes I prefer playing CoD MW2 (2022) over the other games I play anyway tbh.

I used to skip school to rank in SnD with my team. Looking back on it I was probably addicted but damn if I miss it...playing with your buddies without a care in the world. Good times
