What is the miscs view on Jordan Peterson?
Just started listening to more of his stuff recently. He seems to genuinely care about society and specifically young men in the world today.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

Super well-read on social topics. He can feed discussion this way.
He avoids Christian language, so I guess his work will amount to so much meandering volume no one can really put something holistic together with it.

Great voice to speak of the dangers of what happens in a society or culture when things fall out of balance, and good example of speaking out against tyranny. Don’t really agree with his views on antidepressants, but I’m sure he has seen a lot more fukked up people than I have and known them on much deeper levels so has seen more examples of when they’re actually helpful. He’s also apparently putting together a new initiative to tackle some of the most pressing problems our world faces today. He’s seen the lowest of lows and probably lots of highs, and is still pushing to make the most of his life to help the world. A great example for everyone in many ways.

I view him as a low level Andrew Tate.
I don't get how he's a psychologist and does what he's doing.
People are really like a "box of chocolates" and what's cool about said box is that you do not know what's in the chocolates until you bite into one. People are not the same and so what is right about one person is not right about another. Thus, as a psychologist, you can't say "all people need to do is ABC" because that is not true.
Andrew Tate is the same way. We all need to do ABC and then things will be great.
Peterson also says things about fat models, etc and he ought to know that fat people are pretty much crazy. It's like an eating disorder or an addiction and I read he got his start in addictions.
If he wanted to quit psychology and write "Here's what I think" then that's fine but the ONE THING you never do in psychology is give advice. That seems to be his thing.

He’s gifted at remaining calm while being relentlessly misrepresented and attacked. His rebuttals under these circumstances are often exceptional. It’s harder than it looks, as anyone who has had to think on their feet in in front of people knows. It’s one thing to think of a counterargument on the internet and submit it after spell check. It’s quite another to respond to an argument immediately and eloquently, the way he does.
