Need advice. Can't sleep on cut.

Cliffs:EDITED calories for you ****ots. 1400 cal/day, 500 cal/day deficit
-Doing a 1400cal/day, no macros CICO cut. The goal is to lean out my face for dating app cover pics, so that I can hold hands with an IRL woman.
-It's going well. I'm 6 lbs down in 6 weeks.

-But, I can't fukking sleep. Some nights I'll feel tired, go to bed, and just lay there for 8 hours.
-Currently typing this after 2 consective nights without sleep. Feels horrible man.
-Melatonin and Benadryl don't really work.
-When I have ate full cheat meals, I sleep like a fukking baby that night and wake up feeling great.

What do I need to be eating so that I can actually get to fukking sleep?

It's a 500 cal/day deficit. Goal calories is 1400/day (small frame of peace).

How the fuk are you only losing 6lbs in 6 weeks eating nothing?

Speaking of eating nothing, fuk, go lower carb, fast for a day entirely (0 cal), then day two workout and eat a high protein/fat diet. Rinse, repeat. This low low calorie ridiculous cut, it's going to destroy whatever muscle base you have. Fuk that.

When you fast, and 500cal is close enough, you don't sleep as much. Fasting = high levels of adrenaline, body is priming you to go out and gather some food.

Edit: OP is eating 1,400 cal. I still think he's better off fasting/eating cycle. That way you can bust your ass in the gym, train hard with some food in you and still have 2500 deficits on fasting days, which adds up real quick. Because fasting primes hormones like adrenaline and growth hormone, I've only done this method once and for a single month, but I lost 11lbs and gained strength for the month.

No clue why he can't sleep. Probably stress and the same reasons most of us can't sleep, which he's not able to do without that burst of carbs near bedtime (which, carbs do help sleep).
All truth passes through three stages. First, it is ridiculed. Second, it is violently opposed. Third, it is accepted as being self-evident.

Your maintenance caloric requirement is 1900 calories/day? What are you 100lbs soaking wet?

If you can't sleep you need to eat more carbs. If you refuse you could try magnesium but your body is telling you something aint right.

A banana or 2 may do the trick.

If the bananas don't work, try Walsom...I use it regularly when I travel to beat jet lag from time differences.

I've had this problem before. What worked for me is eat at maintenance until your sleep is normal again. Then reduce calories by 100 cal per week until you reach your 500 cal deficit. Once you're here, don't kill yourself in the gym. Do the minimum for a couple weeks or so. If your sleep is still good, you can slowly ramp up your training if you want.

My high school weight was high 140s at 5'7". Trying to get back there.

I'm going to pound the fukk out of some carbs these next couple nights and will report back with results. Had a french fry stuffed burrito for a cheat meal last Saturday (San Diego Mexican food crew) and slept like a baby.

I'll do this if the carb chit fails.

I do 30-45 mins of cardio 3x/week. Not lifting at all, just moving some small weights for HIIT.

Bumping this.

I carb-maxxed last night with a double decker fast food burger and a large fry. It didn't do chit. I stayed bolt awake the entire night for 3 days in a row without sleep.

That's pretty fukky, so I went to an urgent care clinic nearby.

Their claim is that I am going through alcohol withdrawal right now. 100% srs. I quit boozemaxxing when the diet started around Christmas. I used to drink pry 4 or 5 nights a week, and I didn't go beyond 1 or 2 shots, but I guess it was regular enough that I developed a dependence.

They gave me 2 ******s to try and deal with it... that's playing with fire. I'm popping one in like an hour. Stay tuned to see if downers derail FAbrah's life off the tracks.

Your body is obviously telling you that you're starving.

Anorexics have a tough time sleeping because of the low calories.

I don't buy the alcohol dependence theory.

Go back to eating maintenance for a while. Taper your calories down next time. Reduce stress. Don't over do it in the gym.

Sleep deprivation can cause some people to have insomnia. It seems to trigger a fight or flight response making it difficult to shut down and sleep. This is me. It sucks really fukin bad, I know.
Other people sleep like the dead after being deprived.

Bumping this post after 2 weeks.

Never took the ******s. I've stuck them in my cabinet, but have been using big azz doses of melatonin instead.

That and upping cals to 1600 a day has got my sleep better. It's still not batting 1000, but it is working better than it was. Eating one banana before bed has helped too.

Weight loss since then has been a little slow, but it's a sample size of 1 lb and 2 weeks. A big chit could even things out as this point. I am keeping an eye on that.
