Is Australia a First World Country?
When did they modernize? I always figured they were a little backward like the English.

It’s a banana republic that relies on selling raw resources, housing to ever increasing numbers of Indian/Chinese/African immigrants and fake college degrees to Chinese and Indians with the promise of citizenship after 4 years

"Inflation" being driven by the cost of energy, petrol and diesel and basic essential foods - that's it - has resulted in 9 consecutive hikes in the cash rate creating significant mortgage stress for peasants that either didn't fix their mortgage rates or borrow at 100% capacity when rates were low. The Reserve bank seems intent on dragging the country into recession if need be in order to reduce inflation back to 2-3%. To combat the increased cost of living, the new ultra left wing Federal Government mandated a 5% increase to the minimum award rate (minimum wage) - because putting more money into the economy via peoples pockets doesn't increase inflation does it?
They're all blaming Russia v Ukraine and climate lol

Some woman here was sick of abos breaking into her house, she lost it, chased them down in her car and accidentally hit one

The term "First World" originally referred to the capitalist and industrialized nations that were allied with the United States and Western Europe during the Cold War. Since then, the term has come to be associated with countries that are economically developed, with high standards of living, advanced technologies, and stable political systems.
Australia is one of the world's wealthiest countries, with a high standard of living, strong economy, and high levels of social and political stability. It has a well-developed infrastructure, including a modern healthcare system, excellent educational institutions, and advanced transportation networks. As such, Australia is generally considered to be a developed, First World country.

Points about Australia are quite valid.
Some facts though. It's medical and retirement systems are the best in the world by far.

Isn't Australia one of the only white countries left? If you're not a poorcel and can afford housing, it's paradise (best beaches in the world) (mostly high trust communities).

Hasn’t been since about 2003 when prime minister John Howard opened the flood gates
We now take in 200,000 Indian and Chinese immigrants a year (aka 1% of our population per year). Plus untold more that get citizenship via bogus college degrees

Australia does not seem to be a free country, in particular with their harsh COVID lockdowns. It was frightening to see how that was handled.
