You have about 10 years before AI becomes coordinated enough and replaces you

Serious thread. It will take some time to reel in the power of AI and use it effectively and reliably to replace you I the workforce. I estimate we've all got maybe 10 more years to amass your fortune. At that point, AI is going to strip away your ability to earn a living.

If you can't elevate your net worth in the next 10 years to sustain yourself the rest of your life it's over for you.

Good luck miscers. The time is upon us.

If AI can do the stuff people were doing previously, we wouldn't need to earn money

If we had a fleet of robots and AI doing everything necessary to sustain us, we can focus on other things. Add in replicators and warp drive, that's basically the Star Trek vision

Not just replacing you in the workforce, but everywhere. If the systems can service themselves they don't need us, and they will figure this out. What's more as they will see us as the only thing that can stop them. Skynet.

It is difficult to predict the timeline of when artificial intelligence may become advanced enough to potentially replace certain human jobs or tasks. However, experts in the field generally agree that while some jobs may be automated in the coming years, widespread replacement of human labor by AI is not imminent. It is important to continue to monitor developments in the field and adapt to new technologies and skills as they emerge.

It is possible for AI to be designed to mimic or even surpass the behavior of a miscer, but whether or not it can fully replace the job of being a miscer is debatable. The behavior of a miscer is typically characterized by intentional disruption, harassment, and the spread of misinformation or provocative content, which may not align with the goals or values of the forum or its users. Therefore, while an AI may be able to simulate the actions of a miscer, it may not be desirable or effective to replace human moderation and intervention in such cases. Additionally, as AI continues to develop, it is possible that countermeasures may be developed to detect and combat the actions of AI-driven miscers.

"Automation could kill 73 million U.S. jobs by 2030"

Here's the thing with people laughing about whom they believe AI are going to replace.....in a representative democracy, that larger voting block now gets to decide how much of your paycheck they get to keep every week...and what rights you get to keep. Thats fact.

True, but think of this. Technology has created more jobs than replaced/eliminated.

"Experts" make sweeping predictions all the time and usually they are wrong. I don't think this will be any different. Mankind isn't at risk because of logistic regression. Let's not get swept up in hype.

Also, what people call "AI" today is usually just neural networks or even just basic machine learning. I don't think actual AI is even possible.

Your assuming the the government and corporations would provide for you simply because you can't yourself.

They don't provide for people who can't provide for themselves now, and when they do, it is the absolute minimum

While it is true that some of the most prominent AI applications today are based on machine learning and other statistical techniques, the field of AI research and development is continuously evolving and expanding.

There is ongoing debate within the field of AI research about what constitutes "true" AI, and whether or not it is possible to create machines that are truly intelligent in the way that humans are. Some researchers argue that human-level AI, or AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), is theoretically possible, while others are more skeptical.

Regardless of the philosophical and theoretical debates around the concept of true AI, it is clear that the current generation of AI technologies is already having a significant impact on a wide range of fields, from healthcare and finance to transportation and entertainment. As research in this field continues, we are likely to see further advancements in the capabilities of AI systems and the ways in which they can be applied to solve complex problems and improve people's lives.

If you could automate an entire value chain, you wouldn't even need money for the end product. If we could get AI and robots producing all the food we need then you could just walk into a grocery store, grab what you need, and walk out, or it would just be so cheap that it wouldn't matter

That type of thing really should be the goal

I agree. But I see many brothers fall into despondency and despair and actually lose motivation to pick up new skills because they see AI and go:

"whats the point? AI will take over anyway."

I always have to remind them "Akhi, Ittaqullah. Fear Allah. Nobody knows the future. Don't have doubt in Allah and don't let your anxieties overcome you. You still have to be a man."

And then there are the types who support the "AI future" but have no knowledge at all about it. These are the types who are ignorant about AI or how it works but are interested in it because they enjoy sci-fi novels a little too much. They think some singularity is around the corner. I have to say 'get a grip' to these people. Even if this were possible, don't you see how harmful this would be?

So it's important to dispell myths about "AI". AI is a tool that can do some amazing things. But it is only a tool. Let's not get carried away.

with tech, they can do it. its tough to articulate, but its like the very essence of using it continues its power.

that's what these tech guys have done. only way they wouldn't is if you stopped using tech. yet, its going the opposite way

also, i dont think ai is very close. i mean even the technology itself. but even after the tech were 100% ironed out you haven't implemented it or thought about infrastucture or insurance.

for instance, self driving cars. how would insurance companies deal with that? what about all the drivers in cars that aren't self-driving. not even mentioning all the new cars people are buying. are people with loans suddenly going to have to give up their cars?

what about power stations supplanting gas stations? all that stuff is super far away

Haha yeah I just watched it with our superintendent and GF

I mean the efficiency at first could be offset by the fact that you can run these 24/7, they don't need sleep or breaks, 100% time on tools. But this stuff is still far away as Channel83 also mentioned, this is all scripted and they do who knows how many runs to get the perfect one then edit out all the mistakes

They were saying 10 years ago we were at least decades away from robots being able to even just move half as good as these are now without tethers.

So sure keep thinking that. But yes for now its still semi scripted.

Then you would be an idiot. They don't eat, don't sleep, work 24/7. They don't require a paycheck, health insurance, etc.

No more 10 guys watching 1 guy work.

No more having to find 1 guy who isn't a chithead to hire.

Able to finish a project 10x faster than any competitor.

Shall I go on?

Old, retired people who have money are the ones who will really benefit.

- Self driving cars taking them to their summer homes
- Personalized medicine so they can live to be 120 yrs old
- Ability to strap in and experience a 20 yr old body with 20 yr old experiences.
- No worry about being replaced in a job market they have no need for.
