Scratches the same kind of itch that Hades does, though with seemingly fewer permanent upgrades (at least with how far I am now)

Played this last year and it was such a fuking blast.

Extremely smooth and satisfying. The difficulty was high and finally clearling a boss was such a FUK YEAH moment, even moreso than Hades imo. I'm not sure about the PC release because the biggest asset of this game is the haptics. I hope haptics are supported on PC version and if it is, please for the love of God play it with a PS5 controller. The dualsense haptics on this game brings it to life, you won't understand it unless you experience it.

Oddly enough I came in here to say I was gunna wait for the pc version cause I'm terrible with a controller at shooters these days, And what do ya know the pc version came out today.

Not sure how similar they are, but if you like Returnal, why not give Deep Rock Galactic a try?


Deep Rock isn't the prettiest game, but holy fook its fun, especially when you get a good group.

Steam Deck actually doesn't look too bad, especially when you consider that's running on a 7" 15w handheld.

I bought it at launch and still have barely played it. Just seems like its going to be frustrating. Glad they added mid-run saves to help a bit, cause fuk having to lose progress if you need to stop. But still afraid its just going to be too frustratingly difficult.

We haven't been through a thing. It was freeburner who came in and posted a modded GTA 5 and he was laughed out of the thread.

I looked up RDR2 modded and it looks great but you can see its age in quite a few areas whereas Forbidden West, while not having the same fidelity or lighting just looks more beautiful. Not only scenery but most importantly how realistic the characters look and move. You can legit see the muscles in their faces move and the lips press against their teeth when they frown.

Returnal is easily the best looking game I've seen on PC so far. It definitely looks better than the PS5 version. I'm sure when FW comes out on PC it will look insane. Take the compliment.

Was really fun, just wish there were a few more weapons. The boss with the organ music was the most memorable.

Haven't looked for the post game suns yet. Contemplating going back to the game vs watching on youtube for secret ending.

Are we factoring in stuff like that? The goalposts stretches from graphics to animations now. Have you seen the insane small details of the world in rdr2? No game compares, not even horizon. Rdr2 has a wild attention to detail that is unmatched imo.

I have been saying this from the very beginning. Your brain is like mush on weed man. Lemme be clear, at no point would I ever or did ever suggest that PS5 has more raw power and graphical fidelity than what a $4k machine can pump out. That's extremely obvious.

My stance was ALWAYS that for how much more powerful PC is on paper, the games don't look 8 times better than a PS5. Not even 2 times better. Not even 50% better. Just based on raw power, you should have dozens of PC games fighting for graphics of the year contender, yet a game running on a cheap 10 teraflop machine won graphics of the year and it wasn't close.

The point I have always made is it's astounding to me how a system so cheap can compete with games on PC and the main reason for that is 1. How incredibly well optimized it is and 2. How incredibly talented Sony devs are.

But imagine having RTX 4090s and the only one game you can bring up is a modded up game from 5 years ago. You're basically making my point for me, Rockstar are actual wizards on the same level as Sony devs. Admiring the attention to details here but character animations and stuff in this game are definitely showing their age now. There's definitely uncanny valley happening with NPCs. Congrats though it's the best looking PC game for sure.
