Lower back popped while squatting (reps)
For the select few of the misc that actually lifts, and the even more select few who train legs.
Has anyone had their lower back pop when squatting with depth?
Happened this morning and can hardly walk.
Wondering if common injury and anything stretch wise you can suggest before I book doctor/physio.

The first couple days I couldn't walk from how bad the pain was. I was finally able to stand up a few days ago. I'm walking around but there's still a lot of pain and my wife has been having to help me put my shoes on because I can't bend over enough to tie my shoes without causing more pain or injury.
Right now, the pain isn't in my lumbar like it was at first, now it feels like the tendons attached to my ass bone are inflamed or something. It feels like it's going to take another week or two to fully heal

Worst comes to worst, you could always front squat to force yourself to use quads instead of lower back.

Difficult to diagnose without an mri or hands on, but you may have slipped a disc or you may have pulled an erector
Give it a few days and see if it gets better. Resting it is the worst possible thing you can do, so make sure to go on walks and avoid sitting or lying down for long periods.
Most people have slipped discs, so it may not be a big deal.
If you develop sciatica though all I can say is RIP. That is the closest I have come to actual suicidal thoughts.

Sone this a few times. I did it not long ago deadlifting. Scariest feeling ever. Aspirin water and ice asap. Menthol rub. Try the back extensions but take your time. The first time is always the worst but you can work through it.

got any pain that shoots down one side of your glute and leg at all?
fking guys ... if you arent powerlifting stop the fking barbell squats. just go with alternatives (like hack squat.) ded fkn srs. herniated discs are god awful
youll eventually be able to work AROUND it... not thru it.
OP - go see a GOOD physio. one that understands lifting.

Been there done that. I cant deadlift heavy anymore after it happened. Would just keep happening every single time I would dead heavy and leave me sidelined and having to rehab it back over a week or two.
Cut out the lifts that aggravate it because its probably permanent, or was in my case. I can do pretty much everything else and feel totally fine.

how to prevent this?
strengthen your back with good mornings and reverse hypers?
as i've been working back up in weights, i've noticed coming out of the hole, my back leans forward and it can get kind of scary on the last few sets/reps. Don't wanna **** my back

Might've happened to me a time or two. Usually from overdoing it. Just a strain and not a slipped disc. Take some time off, go for walks for activity, etc.

Anything involving lower back you should leave two reps in the tank,
It’s incredibly stupid and counterproductive to hurt yourself while lifting.
Now all you can do is chiropractor, natural turmeric curamin painkiller, stretches, physical therapy exercises, and you may even need PRP injection, hopefully you learned your lesson.

next you must do hyper extensions, you must do them all the time and religiously, if you could hop on the table and do reverse hypers Where are you lift your legs rather than your torso That’s great too,
Hanging helps, try to wobble around from side to side front to back and so on while you hang, it helps to align your spine,
Keep your back straight, and even a little bit arched when squatting, never wink with your butt on the bottom of the movement,
Face it, it’s 100% irrelevant how much weight you lift how many reps you do, what your legs look like etc., you’re not stepping on the Olympia stage, and nobody gives a ****, so never work with the weights that you cannot comfortably do easily eight times or more. The fact that you’re leaning forward automatically means that you need to lower your weights, form is important, how many reps or how much weight you do is not important, you may think it is, but it isn’t. Lol, nobody gives a ****, you’re not going to get more or less pussy whether you lift 100 pounds more or less. Save your back bro! You only get one.

I've had this happen to me before and it was a lower back strain, which is terrible for a week or two but clears up. It legit feels like your vertebrate will just slide out. You walk and it looks like you're holding in a massive dump with all your might.
You could also have a herniated disc but I believe that's a little less common and more serious.

Do supermans on the floor.
Literally the easy ass exercise SUPERMANS.... on your floor.
Not even joking, it will speed up your recovery time by like 80%.
Do them every day, 3 sets or so of 15 reps.
Yes it's easy AF
Yes it makes a HUGE difference
source: I've had low back issues for 8 years now, and this^ is the one thing that easily fixes it.

Never had anything like that happen, did you pull something?
My only real advice I've learned squatting is pretty serious business like your knee slightly gives at the wrong time and it's gg.
I spend way more time doing work on squat form than doing actual barbell squats.
And when I do squats with bb it's atg with proper form etc.
Just emphasis on form form form form.
Stretching too, lots of stretching, goes hand in hand.
